I wanted to get your opinion . I am going to be putting together items to send to our very own , Christine ( Party Princess )  Husband Chris's unit in Iraq.  Chris is being deployed and I will be collecting items at the January Event to send to them . What items do our solders want or need over there ? I have a pretty good idea , but I am aware that some of the group here have first hand knoweldge of those that have been deployed .  If you can send to me your list of things , I would appreciate it . I will be announcing soon as to what we will need and how you can donate .  Thanks for your time ,  Natalie

Natalie, My husband was over in Iraq in '03.  A big request then was things havng to do with hydration and comfort.  Misters, baby wipes(for sponge bathing), hard candy(no chocolate--melts), magazines, books,  sunblock, aloe products, emery boards, powder, playing cards/card games, phone call cards, ...seem to be popular choices, and should get you started! Another thing was regular correspondence....letters, videotapes, etc. :-)Kirsten

We regularly send our squadron airmen packages including items already posted plus lip balm, eyedrops, hand lotions, non-sweet snacks, small games, and ANYTHING to read even back issues of magazines.

One of my "adoptees" wanted beef jerkey, the cheese & crackers & peanut butter & crackers thingies.

It also occured to me that feminine products might be in need since our gals are over there too.  Things like tampons, mascara, good-smelling shampoos & conditioners...you know...girlie stuff.  Just a thought.

Hugs!
Ann

On post here at Fort Lee, there are frequent requests for packages to include protein bars and related prepackaged foods
