Good and Bad news (WOW and YUK factors here!)
Hi all,
First the good news...I have officially lost 100# as of today! I am down to 143 (my wedding weight! and weight I was at when I was in the military! I am sooo happy and excited with the results from this surgery. I have 13# till my goal weight and I got in size 10 jeans and they are not tight! WOW!!!!
But, there is some bad news with that milestone that I got to have my first retched dumping experience. I have never dumped, even on small pieces of sugary items...mind you I usually don't eat those and if I do, it is in a small quantity. BUT, I was so happy that I was doing sooooo good that I decided to immediately REWARD MYSELF and have a small mini snickers, 3 small bite sized malt balls, and a small mini package of reeces pieces from my kids Halloween candy. Well, within 15-30 minutes I was hot, nauseated, and having the worst abdominal pain and diarrhea for the rest of the day. WHAT A REWARD FOR ALL MY WORK!
Lesson learned....the hard way!

Congratulations on the weight loss. Great job! Our bodies will let us know who is in control. I only snuck a few pieces of candy at a friends house. Usually 2 m & ms and im satisfied. Dumping is not fun. Have over done it a couple time in the last couple years but learned its not worth it to me.
Great Job again,
Shannon

Good am Dianne! Congratulations on your weight loss. That is WONDERFUL for sure! I'm happy and excited for you!
Ahhhh yes! First and foremost, I wil say in MY opinion there is not ONE single person who can say they have never been "bad" and eaten things they knew better about. Its a very real reminder our surgery not only works but there are true consequences no matter how far out you get. I will be 5 years in January and Drucilla STILL works. The great thing is you HAVE learned so make better choices next time. Remember how it made you feel.
Keep up the good work & enjoy your day & weekend! All best....

Hi Diane - congratulations on losing 100lbs - certainly a great achievement!
One thing the tool teaches us, is that food is not the best reward for us!! I have only dumped once in 20 months and I think the restaurant put sugar in their cooking because I have never pushed my limits on anything with sugar. But I felt so bad, it is a great deterent for me to continue watchuing everything I put in my mouth! You found out that your tool is still working effectively and it will prevent you over indulging again! Lesson learned the hard way - but it will keep you on the straight and narrow for the future. Now you forgive yourself and move on!
As Coutney said - reward yourself with something else like clothes or a new CD etc...
You have a lot to be proud of! Congratulations once again.

Diane,
Sounds like we are almost exactly at the same point in our journey. I am 11 Lbs from my goal and a size 10 also. I am so thrilled with my new body and you must be too! I can't quite get used to the person looking back at me in the mirror, but I like it!!! Yes I did the halloween candy experimentation too, just a little bit but I was disappointed that I didn't get an uncomfortable warning sign like you did. Perhaps I stopped just a hair before that! I do wish the cookie that I ate from Panera did make me dump and teach me a lesson! Well, now I know to stay away from that danger zone, danger signs or not!!! Back to my good habits! I'll have my son remove any candy from sight until it's gone and no more!! I hope you reach your goal soon too! The last few lbs. are so tough!!!!! Congrats on your 100 lbs! What an accomplishment!!
