WOW!!! What a ride! Just got back from Innova Fairbanks - 3 hour drive, man am I tired. Anyways.....as many of you already know, I had my LBL and BL on Wed with Dr. Krieger, up in Fairfax. Unfortunately, it did not go as expected and instead of leaving on Thursday, I ended up leaving the hospital today (sorry I missed ya, Nat). I had a bleeder that was causing me to lose blood pressure and they had to give me 4 pints of blood and take me back to the OR on Thursday. I was in OR for 2 hours because they had a devil of a time finding it. BUT....let me tell you about Dr. Krieger. That man was AWESOME! The entire time this ordeal was going on, I knew that he was there. He came in in the morning to find me pale and with low blood pressure and immediately came to the rescue. By lunch, I was no better and he scheduled my surgery for later that day. He constantly called the nurses to check in to see how I was doing, and then before surgery, he sat with me and hubby for about 20 minutes chatting. For me, this was comforting as I was loopy from the meds and scared out of my mind. I've NEVER been given a blood transfusion before. The word that the nurses used all day to describe him was "protective". Despite being an excellent surgeon (which is why I chose him), I felt like this additional bedside manner was the icing on the cake. So, anyone looking for plastics....he IS your man!

Wow, Jill, sounds like you had a time of it...glad you are ok now. Some drs are so special and deserve the applause. That is what makes them "above the rest"....they sincerely care. Thanks for suggesting him. When and if I have any plastics done, I will keep him in mind. Take care of yourself and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.. Hugs, Betsy

He was (is) wonderful. He is the same surgeon that Nat, Jackie and Donna Mae used and they rec him to me. I tell you what...it was worth the 3 hour drive there for this and for him to do it.

I am glad you are OK. Yes, Dr Krieger and NOVA Fair Oaks are great. He did my LBL on 10/17. Protective is a good word to describe Dr. K. I am glad you were in his very capable hands. Get well soon. Loris

Hey sweetie , thanks for calling me tonight .. Glad you are doing better . When I heard what happened I prayed .. as you know it happend to me too . Rest .. Morning and thanks. I tell you what...Dr Krieger is wonderful. He took really good care of me and I just knew that he wold. And his work is awesome! I'm recovering quite nicely so far.
