Thanks Everyone...stricture

Thanks to everyone *****sponded...as I laid in bed last night and this morning and then responded to Kat's response...I noticed another little icky thing...PAIN...and a lot of it.  I have concerns now of not only a stricture but possibly an ulcer..so, I have moved my EGD to tomorrow. I want everyone to know that, even when you're unsure, pay close attention to what your body is telling you.  I am a nurse by trade but, when it comes to my own health or that of my children, I ignore my training and go with my gut for the most part (I ALWAYS ask others because I need reassurance that I'm not being crazy...LOL). I also want to say that even though I've had a rough time...I wouldn't change a thing and it could have been so much worse.  If a couple of strictures, and an intolerance to practically every protein known to man is all I have to deal with...I am blessed!  I have lost 58 pounds in less than 3 months and there is no other way that would have happened!  I appreciate everyone's support to the umpteenth degree and I will update tomorrow in the pm about my EGD.

Sweetie I am glad you're going tomorrow. Also, I had a bleeding ulcer with my strictures and began taking Protonix for it (in fact I'm taking it NOW for an ulcer) and it caused LOTS of discomfort. I'm very glad you posted about this. WE are our own best advocate and an expert of our body and situation. We have have funky things we go through but we get through them and we are truly blessed big time!!! Congrats on the 58 lb. Take care....

It sounds like your stricture is back - I am surprised they would not have seen an ulcer when they did your last EGD but regardless -  an ulcer may have snuck in. If it is a stricture it will be easy to fix again and let's hope you get no more trouble with it and they fix it once and for all this time! Good luck! Jackie

Wow, I'm reading your previous post in another thread and thinking "this is what it feels like after I eat lately..." Could I be on the beginning of a stricture, also?  I thought that maybe I was eating too fast or ...?  I just know that liquid gurgles, but when I have it, I feel much better than when I actually eat food.  Two or three times, I've had to walk for 45mins after I eat to feel better at all. It hurts to eat lately.   Time for me to pay a visit to the Dr. The bad thing is that I am not even able to get a 6month follow up appt. w/him. I called in Sept to get my 6 month follow up in Oct.  My first 2 msgs were not returned.  Then I got a call only to say that there weren't any appts. available for my 6mths, unless I would see one of the new Drs. - not the one who did my surgery.  So, I thought...well, Im doing fine, so I'll wait til Oct. to call for a Nov. appt.  I've left 2 msgs again this month w/no return call yet.  An no appt. for my 7mth. What I really need to do is to email the Dr. directly or maybe even the Admiral, since it's the Navy. I'm ticked off, because they make you promise that you're going to go to the follow up visits -  How can a person do that when they dont return your calls and when they do, there aren't any visits available w/the Dr.?  I REALLY didn't want to see just ANY Dr. I wanted to see the one who actually did my surgery. But I guess it's time that I see just anyone...right? Anyway, thanks for that post.  I'm going to keep a log on how I feel when I eat...just in case. :-) J     

You know what I think?  I think you're an amazing lady.  In spite of all the problems, you still remain upbeat & positive.  Like the rest of us here, you are a true survivor & determined to make this tool work, no matter what.  You go with your bad little self!!!!  I'm really proud of you!!!
