Should Full Liquids Fill me up?
Hi Dawn, Your pouch is probably about the size of an egg right now and for a short time after surgery it is possible to feel full on liquids. After a while you will not feel as full so make the most of it right now lol! In the beginning you will be amazed at how little you can drink or eat but it does not last forever so enjoy it! You can't stretch your pouch on liquids right now so don't worry about that..... The pinchy feeling is the one telling you to stop, you are full - if you continue you will feel ill.... so listen to your body because you will indeed suffer if you overeat on solids in the beginning ......... We mostly all went through it Dawn so just hang in there and ask any questions here - I am sure you wil get lots of advice! Jackie
I am afraid of not getting enough liquids. It seems to happen most in the evenings. I'll have something in the evening and be stopped up for most of the night, and not finish my liquids for the day. This is why I haven't even moved to pureed foods yet! I'll just do better tomorrow with thinner liquids earlier in the day since this seems to be a little bit of a pattern right now. The learning curve of this whole thing certainly is interesting if nothing else! Thank you for your help and reassurance, this board is the BEST.
