Hello, fellow North Carolinians!! Let me be the first to say "Hey" to everyone posting to this page and those just reading the posts. I am Kuri, the true blue luzer!! I am a five and a half month post-op who had open RNY on November 26, 2002. My original weight was 263 and I am now at 197!!! Yeah!!! This is just a quick note to say hi to everyone and to thank everyone, especially the creator of this site, Eric, for all the wonderful information, feedback, encouragement, and cheers I've received from this site. It is truly the bestest. My journey to my ideal weight continues. I'm a little stuck at 197 right now, but with working 70 hours a week for the last few weeks, I haven't gotten my exercise in like I should. I go on vacation next week. When I come back, it's on and poppin'!! I thank the Creator for bringing this knowledge to me. I don't know where I'd be right now or if I'd even be here if it weren't for this surgery!! I send blessings to everyone wherever you are in your journey. Peace and love. TTFN!! Kuri, the true blue luzer!

Hello from Montana! My name is Alexcina and I do pet grooming on the side and I work at a local vet. Hospital/boarding. How old is your pom? If Midnight is use to the shears, then go and have her done by a groomer and for the first time and then if your gonna try and keep it up? Then start out slow and start with the face and work your way down...but call a local groomer and ask for suggestions in what type of blade to use, etc. ok. You may contact me anytime, if you have any more questions. I have 2 dogs right now and 2 cats and 2 guinie pigs...I had 2 toy poodles just love grooming them...so fun. My 2 dogs are a ****er span. pup *5mths old and a 7yr. old Dauchsand and I am getting a new pup in May of this yr. so ya! ttyl Alexcina

Hi Pearl, If you read my earlier post you'll find out why I'm interested in Blind folks. Well I guess not. My mom is blind (macular degeneration) and I grew up w/a blind minister. That's where I got my start any way then the rest. What is your connection? Elaine

Talk about so close yet so far, My surgoen is booking into july right now, I have 1 more appt left, which is on May 8th. Then have to wait for insurance approval, then get a date, hopefully it will be in July. My anxiety is high, I've thought of backing out a couple of times, but know this is the right thing for me, as I am a mother of 2 ages 14 and 11, with a wonderful supportive husband, but there is just so much time to think. But I know it will all work out the way its supposed to. Anyone who wants to chat feel free to e-mail me. Trish : )

Hi Christina, Welcome home.... I hope that your surgery went well. Dr. Nohr preformed my surgery as well, January 2005. I have lost 96 lbs, and I am satisfied with my results. I am still learning what i can and can not eat. I always joke that my eyes are bigger than my stomach (literally). I am also here in Winnipeg, and there really isn't any type of support here for us. This looks to be a great little forum. I wish I would have found it after my surgery. I had lots of questions and no one here to answer them. I was lucky to have 2 sister-in-laws who have also had the gastric bypass, so they were able to answer many of my questions. It is remarkable that we all had the same surgery, yet we all have different outcomes/problems. (not that I have any problems) just different foods affect me differently than other people and vice versa. I hope that you have a speedy recovery, and that you have lots of help in the house. (especially with the children) Take care, Dorothy

Hi, My name is Debie and I am in Wilmington. I am trying to get my things together to have surgery. I am so jeaulous of all you big losers!! First time I wanted to be in a loser's group>>>LOL! Anyway, I am interested in support group in Wilmington and getting messages on how people have done pre and post surgery. I am eating everything I have up so there will be no food by June when I hope to have surgery. The grocery may post a missing person alert for me when I stop going to the store. I am 51, 5'3" and 240. I would love information about your surgeons, your insurance especially BCBC Blue care of NC. Please keep me in your prayers that the next few weeks everything will fall into place for me to proceed with getting my life back! Thanks. Debie [email protected]
