Hi Pearl, If you read my earlier post you'll find out why I'm interested in Blind folks. Well I guess not. My mom is blind (macular degeneration) and I grew up w/a blind minister. That's where I got my start any way then the rest. What is your connection? Elaine

I know this is probably a surprise response but I just found this site. I'm an Independent Living Counselor for the Nebraska Commission f/t Blind & VI. Are you still learning Braille???? there are some sites out there that can help. I've not tried Hadley but I've got another Curriculum that awesome. I could share it with you bit by bit if you'd be interested. I work with Deaf Blind so I know enough sign to get myself in trouble. Thank God for interpreters. Send me an e-mail and we can correspond if you want. It's 2tuxedokats at gmail dot com. btw - Blind kids are awesome!!!! I'll take a dozen of them any day.

I think its awesome that you teach VI kids. I teach special ed, and am learning braille so I can teach VI kids. I know sign language already so I can help HI kids, and being able to teach VI kids would be awesome!! -Sherrie

Hi, I've worked with visually impaired kids for 14 years in our school district. Sometimes I wonder if I like this population because a lot of them can't see what I look like. I'm itinerant, which unfortunately leaves me plenty of time to eat out at junk food places. I think I will be relieved when I finally have surgery and can't any more. Joanne

Creating your own post - how to use emoticons

Emoticons associated with your post's title

One emoticon may be associated with your post's title. (We currently do not support embedding emoticons in post titles; the emoticon image you select to go with your post will appear to the left of the post's title.) To select an emoticon image to go with your post title, click the down-arrow marked Title Images to the left of the area where you will type your post. A menu of images should appear; click on one to make it the title image of your post. The image you have selected will appear outlined in red in the Title Images menu.

Emoticons inserted into your post

As many emoticons as you like may be inserted into the body of your post. To view the available emoticons which you may insert, click the down-arrow marked Message Emoticons to the left of the area where you type your post. You will see a list of textual representations of emoticons and their corresponding emoticon images. To insert an image into your post, type the corresponding text. For example, to include this image :-) in your post, you'd type :-), and to include this one  you'd type .
