Hi guy,   a little help  please.  I need to get my liquid protein drinks.  I tried optifast and liked the taste.  The problem is I got quite a bit of gas pain when I drank it.  I am concerned of this gas problem after surg.  Any suggestions?  I also got some profect protein. ~Moraine

Your system may have just had to get use to it, gosh I start salivating when I think of the Strawberry Optifast....anyway try taking it a few more days and seeing if it goes away, could be reacting to something left over in your intestines?? Give it time to clean out... Dont forget to take a box of Gas X thin strips with you and start as soon as your doc allows every 8 hrs Gosh this mushroom soup is distracting...what was the problem again??? hehe .

Moraine,      I like and drink 2-3 Advant Tage carb control drinks which have only 100 calories and 18 grams of protein, 0 sugars and about 1 or 2 dietary fiber.  It tastes good to me and I have had no gas.  I also eat pure whey protein in a shake that I make with 1/2 frozen banana a little milk and a half container of low carb yogurt and a few ice cubes.  It's pretty darn good.  Also blending chicken noodle soup adding a little onion powder.  I also take liqui Max complete vitamins 2ce a day and feel great.  Hope this helps.  I am 9 days post op and less 14 pounds.  Good Luck! Hi Moraine, I tried many protein drinks before settling on Isopure. It isn't sickly sweet like the others. Also, Khristi at Dr. Cirangle's office will mail you some sample packs of protein drinks. They also sell stuff at their office. I found it all too sweet and used it with plain protein powder to dilute the taste. I drank a lot of high protein chicken soup post op. I appreciated the savory taste of soup. That is also available at Dr. C's office. bariatriceating.com offers sample packs of protein for $2 each. Good luck in the elusive search for the perfect protein drink. Congrats on your upcoming surgery date. You are in good hands
