Anyone get Dry Mouth during the night after surgery??

Hi Marianne......So it looks like we have another thing in common. From some of the advise I have received, it seems to be related to dehydration and ketosis (I don't know anything about ketosis except I think it is your body burning fat....I could be way off on this one). It's a good thing we are married and our husbands love us anyway!   Mary Beth :-)

My mom says this is a side effect of ketosis. The low carb diet that we are on puts us into ketosis, which can lead to dry mouth.

(My mouth was dry the day after surgery, because they wouldnt let me drink anything!

Hi, I don't know much about ketosis but I think it has to do with burning fat (I could be way off). So that is a good thing. I guess I should be happy then. I can hardly remember the day after surgery for some reason. I do remember drinking something nasty for the radiologist to check for leaks. If I would have had to take one more sip, it would have been all over the place. I guess the morphine pump I was on fogged my mind. Thank you for the information. Amanda is right! The dry mouth, and even yucky taste is a side effect of ketosis... Every night when I wake up and have that dry, yucky taste in my mouth, I know I'm just burnin' fat! *L* If I didn't get it, I'd be worried.

That is sooo cool! I had no idea. Now I won't be worried that I am drying up as I sleep. My oily skin has turned to dry skin since the surgery but I noticed a couple of small pimples today, so I think I'm getting back to normal!  Thank you.....Mary Beth :-)
