Hi there,

I am pretty far out now and pretty much know my limits. I was so careful for a long long time. Than my BIL made Banana's Foster...OMG...they are so good. This is the first time I actually ate to much and got what everyone refers to as the foamies. It sent me running to the bathroom wondering if I was gonna throw up. I did not. But like others I kept swallowing--lots of saliva-- and felt very very uncomfortable. After awhile that feeling eased up and went away. Lesson learned. The next time I had Banana's Foster I was careful to only have a small serving and not go overboard...I LOVE MY SLEEVE! This happened to me just  a couple of months ago in July. So the sleeve will keep you in line...even at 1.5 years out!

Hugs
Cathy
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

I have not had any of these symptoms since I had the sleeve on 8/14 , I am also not loosing like I should. I can eat anything and 8-10 oz at each meal and i also have 2 or three snacks aday. I do not think I got my moneys worth from this surgery.

I have thrown up a lot......it was hard to learn when I was full initially, even now sometimes.  This is partly because I am a speed eater and learning to slow down is tough.  Slow down and chew lots is tip one I reckon.  Everything  everyone else said is what happens to me to, only I would rather throw up than take the pain of being uncomfortable.

Could you tell me what your diet is like. I am 6 weeks since my surgery and I gained 6 lbs between 2nd and 4th weeks. After I started eating solids. I do not ever feel like I am going to throw up or have foamies or pain. I can eat 8=10oz at a time . I am not sure this is going to work  I did start walking this week and lost 2 lbs. I hope this keeps up. thanks judy

I eat 6-7 times a day, usually every 2-3 hours.  You can call it B, L, D and snacks, but most quantities of food are the same. Here is a typical day for me;

B  Glass of prune juice and I take my morning meds with it.
S  On the Go light cheese and biscuits (3 to a pack).
S  Snack pack of diced peaches or other fruit.
L  Small can of minestrone soup with some parmesean cheese.
S  3 light cruskits (crispbread) with light chive and onion cream cheese.
D  Lean beef pattie, about the size of 3/4 of the palm of my hand and maybe some veggies, but only a small amount.
S  Diet cream caramel or cruskits again or maybe a mini mango icecream bar for a treat, or if I have been constipated I have 4-8 pitted prunes.

You need to track your weightloss and gains, you might lose in a pattern, some people gain for a week or two and then lose.  Also, you need to keep you calorie intake to a maximum of 1,000 calories.  You need to track for a while on the daily plate to see what you are doing.

Can you tell me what you are eating everyday?
