Okay I had surgery on 11.11.08 so that is about 5 and half weeks.

Don't like eating nothing sounds good. Trying real hard to get in the protein not doing
well cause I hate eating only 40-50 grams per day. Water trying hard there too only about 40 oz a day.
Frustrated beacuse I have been stalled in the weight loss since 11/18/08 I lost all of my weight the first week and nothing since. I excercise everyday. and I know eventually it has to come off.
I know I am not eating and drinking enough and I am really trying but there does not seem to be enough hours in a day to get it in not to mention it is torture for me.

Just need some encouragement it will come off eventually right???? Can't see my do****il Jan 22 as he is out of town for the holidays.

Is ther anyone else out there like me????

I hate to feel so all alone.

It just feels so unfair to go throughall this and still not lose weight

Thanks

I am having HELL trying to get protein in.  So I eat a Zone bar for lunch and then eat meat for supper.  Water is hard to get in,  but sip sip sip.....and I still don't get it all in.  Sugar free koolaid, Koolaid made with Splenda, Crystal light,  also I use K2O for protein and water!!
You are NOT alone!!!
Good Luck

Aloha Maureen,
Have you tried adding your protein to your water so you take care of both requirements together? Water alone is ok for your fluid requirement as long as you're getting your protein somewhere else, but it sounds to me like you're not getting enough of either.
You stated that you know you're not eating or drinking enough, so I think you know what you have to do. You can't keep that pace without repercussion.
You can do it! Stay focused on what you need to do until it becomes habit. Then, you'll be on track and it won't seem like such a grind... it will be second nature to you and a new, healthy way of life.

Hey Girl! I been thinking about you!! I am also "stuck" in my weight loss and I think its the 3 week stall?? per Ms Shell and some others on here. Well 4 weeks now :) I am also not hungry most of the time and when I am its for an occasional chocolate covered cherrie or something else i shouldnt have! If i look at another egg for protein I will barf! Its like nothing sounds too good unless it has some sweetness to it. I do love my protein shake I came up with.
1 scoop no carb isopure vanilla
2 tbls unsweetened cocoa
3/4 cup skim milk
2 pkts splenda or equal
2 or 3 icecubes
mix in blender.
That gives you 20 grams protein. Today I am eating something else I am probably not supposed to but I HAVE stayed off the carbs. I cooked steak yesterday and had a small amt and chewed really well. No problem.
As for water, you just have to keep it with you ALL THE TIME!! i usually get 40-50 oz now.
Do you like crab legs? I have those too cause I love them so I know I will eat them. 1 set has like 10-15 grams of protein but I can only eat about 3 legs.
Also shrimp, sauteed, has about 10 grams of protein for only 5 so thats a good source. I had finally lost a little on the scales this morning but wasnt a lb so not counting that just yet.
I am running between 600-950 calories a day so girl, you KNOW eventually we are going to lose. We are just going to have to put up with our bodies till they decide we are not starving them and let go of the weight!.
I am walking at least 20 minutes 5 times a week and more when I can also.
You do need to find stuff that you like to eat. Go to the deli and get like several 1/4 lbs of various meats that you would like to try. Get some cajun roast beef, maple turkey, honey ham, etc. Do the same with deli cheeses. Get some Gouda, Muenster, Smoked Gouda, Alpine lace Swiss, Havarti dill, thinngs you might not normally get. You deserve it and its sure cheaper than all the money we were spending on ourselves eating out! (at least i was! ) Also you might try some of the Babybel Cheeses or some Laughing Cow Cheeses. So you are not alone. I feel a slow loser also. But its BOUND to change if we keep putting less fuel in then we expend. PERIOD!~
Love ya girl and Hang in there and I will too!~

An easy way to get calories, fluids and protein at the same time would be gettting New-Whey protein liquid, bullets as we refer to them. You can find them at GNC. I bought a case before surgery and used them the first month or two post-op. They come in a 3oz tube in many flavors with 42 grams of protein.
I mixed fruit punch with fruit punch G2 low cal gatorade. the only thing I could taste is the G2. I also like grape with grape G2. I didnt try lime but I would imagine it would be good since I really like lime G2. Right now you dont even have to get low cal gatorade since you are not eating. Its important you get some calories. Just mix it to your preference. You could pour one bullet in a G2 and sip all day or pour a glass of G2 with half the bullet and then do it again later in the day.
Maybe its just too early for you to start "eating" dont stress about it. But its very important to get in fluids so you dont get dehydrated. I really didnt drink plain water post-op and still dont. I dont like it as much as pre-op and it gives me heartburn which I think is odd.

The first two month post up (once on full liquids) I lived on chocolate high protein slimfast powder 1 scoop mixed with 16oz fat free milk, G2 with protein bullets and broth sometimes mixed with unflavored protein powder.

If you can get two slimfasts and a 32 oz G2 w/a bullet in each day  you are looking at more than enough calories, fluids and protein to feel better and start losing again.  try eating as you can as you want.

You are dehydrated, so you have no appetite and cannot loose. Vicious circle. This sounds gross, but add a tsp or so of salt to your 16-20oz water or crystal light. Room temp or warmer is easier on your tummy. If you are off tomorrow, really make a hard push to get 80 - 100ozof fluid in. If you can add bullets to your beverages so you get in 84gm protein as well, that's even better. Don't try to eat, just get yourself aggressively rehydrated. If you are up for 16hrs during the day, that's 5oz an hour. Or set yourself a 10oz goal for every two hours you are awake (by 10 oclock I need to have done 20oz, or I will sit here until I meet the goal.) I find I have to set up all my water for the day premeasured and subtract popsicles and jello or I don't get there.

I am hating getting in my fluids etc. And the protein is just gag. But it is lifesaving medicine at the moment and I have to do it. After the snow storm I need bullets and isopure so my fluids will count for protein. The sticky make pastes and the smell nectars are gaggable.

It is hard at 1st to get food, liquids and protien in.   Everyday it will get better.   You have to get some in.   I make it a job.     Get the food and fluids in and the stall will end.   Not eating will send signals that you are in starvation mode.

Just remember take one day at a time.    If you do not get better call the DR or NUT.

I felt exactly the same way when I was about 5 weeks out, the transition was just too hard for me to deal with, and I totally felt like there weren't enough hours in the day.
You have to just FORCE yourself to drink.  I know it seems weird, and at first you won't like it, but that is the only thing I can do to get the water in.  You have to think about drinking just like eating, you don't have to wait until your thirsty to drink, like you don't have to wait until youre hungry to eat (because chances are, you aren't really either right now).  It was weird for me, because I used to be thirsty ALL the time, so I just drank when my body said so, and that was a TON.
Don't feel alone, I think most of us have been where you are.
And don't worry, the weight will come off.  I felt the same way, and I am happy with my success so far.

Girl you are no where near alone as that is the story of my life.  I had surgery right before you on the 7th and to this day I have lost at total of 25 pounds and I had my surgery again before you.

I had the stalls to and as a matter of fact the scale just started to move again but only about 1 pounds a week.

Hear me out I know we like to look at how much other people on here loose so much more than you and all that good stuff the bottom line is you have to fight your own fight although you can take pointers from others everybody is different and that's why I feel good and I am not mad about the stalls or anything as like you said it will come off and the water intake and protein will get better everyday as we heal.

You are doing great and it will get better.  So to answer your questions you are no where near alone whether you know it or not.

Fight your fight.  Just keep fighting.
