I Hate Protein Shakes

  I HATE PROTEIN SHAKES. I've been drinking these things since 1/1/09. Surgery date was 1/14/09 At first it wasn't so bad but now I hate them. I can't even open the canister w/o my stomach turning. Anyone try those ProSLAM high performance supplements w/ 27 or 42 grams of protein? Or the New-Whey liquid protein w/ 42 grams. They are very thick and they come in fruity flavors but don't try to drink it w/o mixing it w/ water. I tried the fruit punch and mixed it w/ water and some crystal lite. I must say it wasn't bad at all.

I dont mind the vials. I dont mix them. Dont drink the 42g at one time. Our bodies can only absorb about 30 g of protein at a time. I would divide them up. As you progress you miht find other brands or flavors you like. Hopefully someone here can turn you on to another brand.

Try www.bariatriceating.com They have a forum section all about making your protein shakes palitable. They also sell protein shakes and bariatric products and they'd like you to buy them there, but there is no law that you have to.

Different people like different products, but some are universally bad! Most people like the protein bullets mixed with crystal lite or sugar free power aid or something.

After having done Optifast and Medifast before, I can't stomach the soy protein shakes, or foods with soy protein for that matter (bars, etc.).  After surgery, I'm going to have to get my protein from food.  I have ordered some Nectar whey isolate that is supposed to mix completely in water.  I ordered the lemonade flavor.  We'll see.

I like the New-whey mixed with the same flavor G2. I can only taste the G2. Fruit punch, grape and orange I tried and like them all.

 I'm sorry, what is G2?

G2 is the low calorie Gatorade.

Aloha- I like the New Whey bullets but I pour them over crushed ice and eat them like a snow cone. I think the fruit punch and orange are the *******so prefer the RTD shakes, my favorite being the EAS Myoplex Carb Control Chocolate Fudge. Others detest it, I still like them and have one every day at 7+ months out because they are portable and totally fuss-less. XOLori

I drink Isopure cookies and cream. It comes from GNC and it seems to honestly be the only protein shake I can drink without
