I think my food addiction is getting the best of me.   In fact, I know it is.   Definitely looking for ways around dealing with my small stomach.   Although I have been going to a counselor each week trying to deal with the emotional side of my eating - I have been hesitant to do what she recommended - go to Over-eaters Anonymous.   After reading yours and other posts, I realize I still have my food addiction and I really need to address it.  Thank you for not comforting me or saying the right thing that I would most likely want to hear.  You were honest and truthful about what I was doing and now I need to address it myself in order to move on from it.

Thank you.   Traute

I think we all suffer from the fat mentality and I think we always will.  It's like you just learn to deal with it and cope with it.

I still have my days where all I want to do is graze and I hyperfocus on food.  It's not a bad thing, it reminds me of where I was and how far I have come.  I used to feel that way 24/7.  Today, not so much.

I needed people telling me the obvious as I was losing, I think sometimes we don't really think through what we are doing until someone points it out.

It gets easier with time, you'll see.  You clearly want this badly enough to go for it, you'll do well.  You watch, you'll see.

Thank you for confirming I am not alone.   I have to say I love looking at your signature, from 22/24 to size 4.   Gosh, I cant even imagine myself being that small.   I guess that part of the process takes time too.

*I* can't imagine being a size 4.  I can't see it either. ;o)  Body dysmorphia... oye.

I still pull jeans out of the dryer and wonder how someone else's clothes got in my laundry.

I think it's all part of the process.  But you know what?  It's ALL worth it.  You picked a great surgery type and none of us could do it without surgery.  Surgery is the easy part, the stuff that you are dealing with now is the hard part.  At least it won't get harder, this is it.  This is the hard part.  Get through this and you are home free in many ways.

I read on this website that sodas are not good for our tummies.  That the carbonation could stretch the new stomach.  Plus you are defeating the purpose of the surgery which is to lose weight by drinking sodas with all that sugar and calories in them.  I stopped drinking sodas although I was just drinking the diet sodas.  So now I drink crystal light, hot tea with lemon and honey, water, certain juices.

I think I was thinking that because I didnt see the bubbles, that there was no carbonation and it wouldnt hurt me.  I completely blocked out the surgar side of the story.  No more slurpees for me.

Most Slurpees are full of calories. They do have one though that is a lot healthier. It's a Crystal Light flavor that has 4 calories per serving, I believe. It tastes great. Just look at the Slurpee signs and you should see one that mentions the calorie count right on there.

Yesterday after posting my original message, I went to 7-eleven's website to see about the calories and they didnt post it.  I found a bunch of sites that showed calories.  Some said 300 some said 200.   I thought to myself, its not the Outback Steakhouse that I used to get - so I justified it.    Among other denials for sure.   I just didnt realize how hard this would be to change my life getting the surgery.

Another option I found that was delicious is found at Wal-Mart and it is a sugar free type snow cone syrup which you can put on crushed or shaved ice for a treat.

STEP AWAY FROM THE COKE! You are playing with fire. Don't even go there. If you have a toilet to clean pour coke in it and swi**** around. But do not put it in your body. Even sugar free will make you gain weight.

Funny you ask, do you know I go to 7 11 every day for a slurpee. oh yes, refill the lg cup 99 cents. The guy told me he's never seen anyone come in so much. I get one per day, minimum 6 days per week.
I do not drink soda or carbinated sodas at all, but yes slurpees. Seems harmless to me,

at goal already, no issues here
