Women only - Really dumb question

 I had my surgery on Friday 26th.  Today I noticed that it looked as if I started my period when I went to the bathroom.  However, due to the surgery, I have forgotten to take my birth control pills until today.  Could I have gotten my period early due to missed pills or is bleeding a sign of a leak?

Honestly? Don't think it has much to do with the pill. I'm not on the pill and my period started 2 weeks after my last - 3 days post-op. A very large %-age of women get their period post-partum whether it's due or not.

If it were a leak I think you'd be having other signs (fever for one, pulse rate increase).  Probably just your body trying to get itself figured out again!   

If it were a leak the blood would be in your stools (poop). Usually if you skip that many days pills you start a period.

i had my surgery june 1, and started spotting about a week after, kept spotting (lightly) til about a week ago when I got my regular (heavy) menses which stopped day before yesterday.  other than this I feel great.  i don't think it's a leak, they cause severe pain and fever.  i think it's brought on by the surgery,anesthesia, hormone change, and stress.

Can you ask your doctor? I hope they welcomed questions from you.

It could be any number of things.......the blood thinners they gave you at the hospital to prevent clots, stress, definitely not taking the pills would do it.  If you are ok otherwise, it's probably not a leak.
