Does Beef Jerky equal constipation for any of you guys?

I was just curious because I like it for the protein but man it constipates the hell out of me before my operation it didnt

I've been amazed at how foods that didn't bother me before surgery bother me now, and vice versa. I'm not a beef jerky eater, but it can be a pretty dry type of food, with a lot of sodium, which could absorb more water in your system, so it kind of makes sense that it could cause constipation. I'm no doctor, though. :)
Are you taking anything daily, to ward off constipation? That can sure be an issue for us post-ops. I take MiraLax daily, and as long as I don't miss a dose, I'm good to go (pardon the pun).

I read somewhere if you dip it in an ice cream shake first that would help!

Nope, no problems here.

Supposedly calcium is constipating though.

Mostly I notice this being a problem when I don't drink enough fluids.
