Any old timers still lurking the boards??
Hi,
I will be 1 year out on the 28th. I have lost a total of 122 lbs. I am currently in the longest stall I have had ( about a month) but I kind of expected it. I had back surgery June 22 and for the first time in years I am able to walk more than a few hundred feet. I am walking at least 1 mile a day. My first thought were that I would lose weight since I was getting more exercise but when the scales refused to move I realized it was because I am building muscle.
My meds have been cut in half and I am no longer a diabetic.
I have gone from a 28 -30 pants to a size 12 and can fit into some 10's. I now wear a 40 D or DD instead of a 48 DDD bra. I still have a problem with some tops because of my bat wings.
My meds have been cut in half and I am no longer a diabetic. I don't think I would have been able to have successful surgery to repair my vertebrae without the weight loss and I know I would not have lost the weight without my sleeve.
I check the board at least once a day and post when I think I can help. I need to be on more often and do more to keep myself accountable.
I appreciate all the "old timers" and the newbies for all they have done to help me on my journey to have a normal size body and be healthier. I couldn't have done it without you.

Well I'm just a year out but maintaining within 5 lbs. I am trying to eat more because I don't want to lose anymore. I have just started to chart my food again on Daily Plate. I found that I was drifting away, so I think it will help. I am on the board most daily and if I feel I can help I post.
I don't have any regrets, they can talk about me plenty when I'm gone....Bob Dylan

Jen...just wanted to chime in. I lurk and read occasionally and came on today hoping to find a message like yours. I had my VSG in November 2007, lost 70 lbs, would have liked to have lost another 20-30 lbs, but started getting ****y with myself and did the big backslide. Still can't eat huge portions, but enough to eat too many carbs. I have now gained back 8-10 lbs over the past 6 mos, and I know I need to stop the upward spiral. I never did get around to integrating exercise into my routine, so my plan now is exercise (walking), and watching the carb/protein/water intake again. I'm so relieved to find I'm not the only one. I totally don't consider myself a failure, as I would have never lost the weight otherwise, and I still feel fantastic. Just need to get focused and motivated again, make small changes. Thanks for posting!
