Does anyone take CoQ10 as part of their vitamin regimen?

I'm wondering if anyone's taking the supplement CoQ10 with their vitamins everyday?

I take biotin along with Centrum women's multi-vit, probiotic, fish oil, b12 2500mcg, pepcid, mobic (knees), and have been taking CoQ10 but if I don't really need it, I don't want to go and buy some more since it's not very cheap.

Also, I was taking Calcium carbonate pills but someone posted that since we don't have a lot of stomach acid, it's not the best calcium to take.  I'm not sure if I should try the Bariatric advantage chews of the new powder form.  It would be so much easier and cheaper to continue to take the calcium but if it's not going to break down properly, I need to find another one.  Does anyone have any suggestions or advice on what works for them?

Thanks a bunch

What was your reasoning for wanting it? I used to take it as a homeopathic way to treat high blood pressure, along with apple cider vinegar and garlic. It worked well when I was pregnant with my son to lower my blood pressure without meds. My blood pressure is great now with some weight loss so i wouldn't need it.

I started to use it because it was on the list of suggested supplements to take post-op.  I never had blood pressure problems even pre-op, but I went down the list and got most of the things on my list and now I'm wondering if I even need it.  I was always surprised when my blood pressure was normal at the doctor's office because I was so heavy and out of breath on doing just normal physical things.

Calcium Citrate is usually the calcium of choice...anything is better than carbonate...that can cause other issues

CoQ10 is something I take but not regularly like I should...it supposedly helps heart health, blood pressure, cancer, and headaches.

LoriG who has lost a significant amount of weight in no time flat...takes it on a regular basis I think.

It is not something most Drs. prescribe for a healthy sleeve patient.

I need to get some calcium citrate.

I'm not having problems with blood pressure so I was thinking of cutting it out (one less pill to take) if I really don't need it.

Thanks for the calcium advice.

May I ask what type of calcium citrate you take?  The pills they had at costco or target would have had me taking 2 pills at a time up to 3 times a day to get 1500mg of calcium.  I'm just wondering if the calcium chews from bariatric advantage is the way to go because I'm worried about taking so many pills and it won't properly break down since our stomach's smaller and less acid is present to break it down.

Have you taken CoQ10 all along, and even before the vsg?  I added b12, and biotin, and CoQ10 post op to my normal vitamin regimen that I've always had, and now I'm trying to figure out what I should keep on the regimen.

Thank you for responding.

Dr. Alvarez recommends it in his post op literature.  I take it....no reason not to that I can see.

I started taking it because of that too, but now I'm wondering if I should continue it since I need to buy some more and it's not the cheapest if I don't really need it.

Thanks for sharing

My surgeon suggests it in the pre-op diet, so I just started taking it today.

I started at 324lbs and a size 26.  After losing 100 lbs, I became pregnant with my first daughter, who was born in March 2011.  My second daughter was born in September 2013.  I have maintained a healthy lifestyle and now hover around 160lbs.  I would like to get back to the 140lbs before I became pregnant with my second daughter.  The sleeve literally gave me LIFE - two beautiful, healthy little girls.  My husband had his VSG with Dr. Marema on 10/1/2012 and is on his weight loss journey, currently down 90lbs.
