Does anyone take CoQ10 as part of their vitamin regimen?

Good luck on your surgery, and thanks for sharing.

I do take the sup and other vitiamins but my concern is your taking Mobic which is on our no-no list of nsaids and so early out from your surgery? I have bad knees to and it is really hard not to take things, I've taken a Celebrx a couple of time that my PCM gave me but now its showed up on my surgeons no-no list too-luckily my knees are so much better with the weight loss I have been OK -just please re-read whatever info you were given or contact his office to double check that its OK.

I've lost weight but my knees got worse.  I've been on mobic before surgery and VSG was the surgery where I could continue to take mobic.  I've had surgeries on both knees prior, so I have to take it.  I've spoken to Susan from my surgeon's office prior and right after the surgery and she said it was fine, especially since I'm taking pepcid with it.
Thanks for your concern, and I hope my knees do get better as I lose more weight.  I did think it would get better sooner but I guess I need to lose more weight before I see a difference.

There is no reason VSGers can't take NSAIDs.

I take it but not because of the VSG. I heard it was good for endurance athletes so I tried it. Then I ran out and decided not to take it but I found that it was making a difference. I have more energy for my workouts when I take it. So now I take it again.

For calcium citrate, I take Citrical with Vitamin D.

Thank you, it's helpful to know that you've noticed a difference from when you weren't taking it.

I'll also check out the Citracal.

Thank you

I hadn't thought about taking it.  Do you know if there's a recommended dosage?  I'm not in the endurance athlete range, but I'm at the gym 3 to 4 days a week, plus walking.

Also, any recommendations for specific forms of probiotics?  I think I'd like to try that too.

I take on capsule and that's 50 mg which seems to be a standard dose.

For probiotics, I buy acidophilus at GNC and take on tablet a day. My surgeon says one has so much bacteria that no one really needs more than that. (I haven't researched this myself though.)
