Water VS Crystal Light??
Hi Everyone
I'm rather new with my sleeve, 5 weeks post op. I have been drinking crystal light rather than plain water and I'm wondering if it makes a difference with weight loss? In the first two weeks I had a really good loss, but have slowed to a crawl over the past 3 weeks. I'm actually getting frustrated and I'm trying to figure out if I might be doing something wrong....
Any advise would be much appreciated.

I'm 7 weeks post-op and found that my weight loss has slowed down at this stage. I lost 30 pounds the first month and though the weight is still coming off it is coming off at a slower rate.
Before the surgery I drank a lot of water. Now I cannot drink the suggested amount, 64 oz., if the water is not flavored with Crystal Light, lemon or some other low cal flavoring. It's a change I didn't anticipate but without flavoring I could not drink 8 cups of water per day.
When I have a stall and don't lose for a few days I increase my protein intake and water consumption and this generally get me losing again. Increasing exercise also works to get the pounds off. I log my food on fitday and maintain a 600-800 caloric intake/day.
Good luck,
George

IMHO, the CL won't make a difference either way. Getting in your fluids one way or another will. However, I do see that you are a revision patient - like me. From what I've seen on the boards and experienced myself, revisions seem to lose slower than a virgin sleeve. I think it just comes with the territory.
Good luck!
Cheers!

Why does plain water taste so gross now? Or it isn't exactly that it tastes bad, it just doesn't go down well. I don't know why.
Since reading the research on artificial sweeteners causing weight gain, I have been trying to drink plain water instead of CL. But it's harder to get my fluids in!

I've had the same problem. I used to drink tons of water as a pre-op, and I preferred the taste of it, but now it tastes off to me, especially with the tap water at my house. I know that the tap water in my county/city (and the U.S. in general) is safe to drink, but I've thought about getting one of those filtered pitcher things to store water in my refrigerator, just to see if that helps the taste of it.
