Worried about looking older

Wow........you have aged gracefully!  When you are done with weight loss, if you need plastics, don't hesitate to get them done if you can.  I have no regrets at all but I was very careful about choosing a plastic surgeon.  I did go to Mexico for VSG but did not even consider going there for plastics. By my reasoning, VSG was a technically simple procedure but plastics require not just skill but also artistic, aesthetic ability / talent and because you will be looking at the surgeons work for the rest of your life, be selective and careful and check around.  Don't worry, getting older with children grown and time for yourself is a beautiful thing.......you will be FINE..........Barb

I can honestly say that I don't think I look any older...but I didn't carry alot of face fat.  Since I am so short and tiny now I look younger.  You never know what will happen I guess until you do it.

I just wanted to second what Barb said!

I look quite a bit younger than I did before.  But I am getting a tummy tuck and breast augmentation in a couple of weeks.  I had the apron too - compliments of my precious kitlets!  In clothes, you can't tell at all that I have the extra skin as there is almost no fat, but naked I have a third boob, haha

I also got some wrinkles under my butt and my formerly well-rounded posterior started to flatten out into white girl butt.  I've been doing a TON of squats, lunges etc on a bosu ball with weights until failure at the gym and it's helped with both the shape of my ass, and with filling out the skin a bit more in that area.  That said - exercise can help fill saggy skin with muscle, but it can't actually shrink the skin.  Oh, and my arms are looking better too thanks to the gym.

It is my face that is looking a lot older.  I look gaunt.  Even hubby agrees I look older.  We took a photo last night and I don't even recognize myself.  It has nothing to do with sagging skin.  It is just OLD and gaunt.  I think it has to do with my age.  Younger people wind up looking younger.  The older people I've seen on this site seem to wind up looking older.

Oh well.

that's what I'm worried about, I'm 58 and I have always looked younger.  Now I think those days will be over.

I'm also 58.  I think I will be glad people will be thinking how old I am instead of how fat I am.  And at least by losing the weight, I may live to be as old as I look!  But I think if I end up with a "gobble wobble" I'll have it fixed.  But I think I want my arms done before anything else.  they are HORRIBLE now so I hate to think how floppy they'll be after weight loss.  LOL

Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

I look older too. I used to look like I was 10. Now I look like a grown up. (I look about 5-10 years younger than I actually am, I think.)

I'm actually happy about it as having a fat moon face is not my idea of beauty. My face has planes and definition now. And some jowls. I could do without the loose skin, but there are so many other things to spend my $$ on that I think I'll probably never get around to PS. I can pretend I'm getting it though.

Oh and I've got GUNS! I still have folds of skin when my arms are at rest and they drive me crazy but when my arm are flexed, they look quite shapely.

I also have lots of muscle definition in my calves.

I got those from strength training and from endurance training. The endurance training burned off the fat so you can see the muscles and the strength training built up the muscles so there is something to see.
