I thought I had done everything to avoid this, and it still happened, take care of yourself...

I posted yesterday that I had a fever this past week and was just feeling awful, you all were right in telling me to see my Dr, which I did yesterday. I got more blood drawn, more urine tests, and a lung x-ray.

So far I know it is not a lung infection.

I got anti biotics and went home and fell asleep.

I woke up a couple hours later shaking uncontrollably with chills, vomiting, and well....I was FREAKING OUT. My sister took me to the ER.

I had read so many stories about people on these boards who had ended up in the ER after surgery and I wanted to do everything so that it wouldnt happen to me.

I got an IV and 2 liters of fluids and nausea medicine.

I was there till almost 2am. There are alot of emotions that went with this today. I am on tylenol, and LOTS of fluids!

Everyone take care of themselves. I will continue to do the same.

This happened to me and I had to do a swallow test too -- blech.  Glad to hear you are OK now!  It just takes time for our stomachs to heal and while it is doing so, it's hard to get everything in that we're supposed to.  Take good care of yourself!

You've not been well for days now, and I'm glad you got treatment.  Very concerning this early out.  I'm saying an extra prayer for you!!!  Blessings.

I'm so sorry to hear that you've been having such a hard time.  I had my surgery last week too and it has been really hard to get in all my fluids and protein.   I know given time it will get easier.  I hope you feel better soon.

Hugs,

Maxine

So what was wrong? You were dehydrated or have an infection? I'd like to know what to watch out for.

I'm glad you are doing better. That must have been so scary.
