I really love fish but am always looking for a new favorite.  I buy big bags at costco (salmon burgres are amazing, maranaided salmon, tortilla crysted talipia have been favorites).  I saw lemon herb butter barramundi and thought I would give it a try. (I almost didnt cause I had never heard of barramundi)

Oh, dear sweet barramundi, where have you been my whole life?

Its filling, its soft and tender, easy to eat, wonderful texture, hard to over cook (I make it in the toaster oven), the lemon is great but it would be great in any sauce.  Its a white fish, easy to fillet (no bones!), nice mellow flavor.

So without sauce (the one I got actually isnt bad at all nut wise)
per one ounce it is
27 calories
0 carbs
6 g protein

So if you can eat 4 ounces (its soft so I can eat 4 if I dont eat anything along with it)
108 cals
1 carb
24 g protein

Lots of Omega-3 too

I read you can get it at costco, whole foods, central market and some regual grocery stores.  It really would be a great fish to start out with cause it is so easy to eat and not dry/

Thanks Missy,
I have been living on salmon and crab the past week because they go down easily and have lots of protein so I will need to try this.

Thanks for the information and review. I'll look for it this weekend at Costco.

I am not a member of Costco but we have a Whole Foods. Once I am eating real food again I have a feeling I am going to be visiting that store a lot. I wi**** wasn't a 40 minute drive to get there.

thanks!

Thanks for the tip!  I've been eating a lot of fresh shrimp and tilapia but I think it's time to branch out a little.  I also like the fresh salmon patties from Trader Joe's.  Lot's of protein in each patty.  They come 4 to a package in the fresh fish section.   I also love the Trader Joe's frozen marinated Mahi Mahi.  The marinade is olive oil based and it's incredibly yummy.
