When can you safely eat pecans, cashews etc?

I am not the world's greatest meat eater, so I'm having to be creative to get that protein in. I'm told by my doc and nut that after 6 weeks I can have any solid food but does that really include pecans, cashews etc? Just wondering? I will have to rely on them for protein sources for sure.

Thanks for the info.

when your cleared for all foods you should be ok, but nuts although healthy and a good source of protein are high in calories so im not sure you would want to rely on them as your protein source you might be beter with tofu, or beans, or quinoa, or something

I have never had a problem eating nuts (other than they don't feel me up liek dense protein and I can't stop eating them), but they are very high in fat so you can't eat enough to make a dent in your protein.  If you like cheese, low-fat cheese is probably one better option you can choose.

You don't have to be much of a meat eater, cause when you eat dense meat, you sure can't eat very much!

I just ate some yummy cashews this morning. I am about 9 weeks out. I ate nuts starting about 5-6 weeks. I don't eat them very often, but they are good in a pinch if I'm stuck at work with no snacks and I have to rely on food out of our convenience store on campus.

I love slivered almonds added to my yogurt. Gives me the crunch factor!
