I'm scheduled for my first-ever colonoscopy Monday morning. I forgot to ask the doctor's office if I could mix unflavored UNJURY protein powder with a couple of my "day before" drinks since I
won't be eating any solid food.  What were you told?

Also, I have been prescribed MoviPrep to "clean me out."  Were you able to drink all the stuff in
the time suggested ... followed by the 16 oz liquid?  I'm almost three years out maintaining well
but still shoot for 70gr protein daily as well as at least 64 oz water.  I have a feeling I'm just going to have to do the best I can.

Thanks for your input.   BARB

I wouldn't worry about your protein goal for that day - at 3 years out it won't hurt you to be low on one day.

As for the other - not sure.  It still takes me awhile to drink at 1 year out...I guess just work at it steady?

Enjoy that MoviPrep - I hear its a "blast" lol

i'd fast like they said, and i'd call them monday and tell them that you had VSG and can't drink fast, and see if they want to alter your bowel prep. i think you'll be fine, since the moviprep is something like 'drink a cup an hour'. i forgot the directions, but you pace it some.
just make sure that you are actually able to do the prep they request because if you are not cleared out they may have to reschedule.
i should add that i have never had one, but i am an RN.

Barb - Mine is in a few weeks they do have a pill you can get instead of the gallon of the stuff to drink.   My support group leader told us all about it.   Just let them know and they should not have any issue with giving you the pill instead of the liquid to clean you outl.

You drink what you can, and then a few minutes later, you drink the rest.  It's no big deal.  I've had two of them, and I had no problem with the prep.

My surgeon told me to get mine pre-op because I wouldn't have to deal with the drinking. I found it hard even as a pre-op. I need one next year for follow-up and I plan to ask for the pill and/or use milk of magnesia.

Citrate of Magnesia... it's different.

I am on my 3rd try... couldn't drink all of the liquid, couldn't poop.  Next try I did an extra day of fasting, Ducolax and Citrate of Magnesia and did the rest but was told I had to redo, unclean.  I am at wits end!  Going to try the 32 pills and citrate of Magnesia as well as Ducolax.  I have a call in to my surgeon for help as well!

many docs use mag citrate for colon preps.  It's only a 10 oz bottle that can be divided over 4 "doses".  Check with your GI doc.
