I was doing so well - clipping along losing half a pound each day and suddenly bounced up 2 lbs. overnight!! The only thing different about my diet yesterday is that I ate Taco Salad for lunch and dinner. Eating mostly the meat, cheese and tomato with smaller amount of lettuce.  Does anyone know? Seems I heard from some diet guru years ago that lettuce was a culprit in water retention.

Was your taco salad purchased somewhere?  Takeout food and packaged taco seasoning are both notorious for being sodium laden.

That diet guru's eye musta been brown, because saying lettuce alone causes water retention, dude was full of it.

Usually the dressing is full of sodium, or the spices we use in the meat.

It probably wasn't the lettuce. It was the sodium in the meat, if I had to guess.

The salad was homemade but the taco seasoning for the meat came out of a package. Didn't think about the amount of sodium. It was a brand I had not used before - won't use it again!! :-)
Thanks for your comments.

If you like it, you could use it again, just up your water, (unless it gave you the weenie fingers!).

Personally, I much prefer the fajita seasoning mix, and I will put 1/8 of a tsp on top of my salad, put a little balsamic oil in there and shakeshakeshake!!  Deelicious!
