Also ..tortilla soup (found one in a jar that was pureed- it was pricy buy yummy. Bean soup broth was really good too.

Good luck!
Meli, please post some of the foods they said you can eat during this time. Is eggs on the list? As in egg drop soup.
Since you said savory, here's one thing I ate in the beginning. I took some lipton onion soup mix, ground some in my spice grinder and mixed a little into my plain greek yogurt. Delicious onion dip!!! I ate that several times. It filled the need for something savory & salty. My shakes were on the sweet side and this really filled the gap.
I'm sure I heard someone talk about a protein powder that is tasteless. That would be good to add to some pureed soup. I also read someone talking about protein soups...? I had thought about adding pureed ham (baby food) to split pea soup or bean soup and blending it. I really want to avoid protein shakes as much as possible...maybe for breakfast only...?
I remember someone else saying they added sugar free pudding powder to greek yogurt. I'm going to be gathering ideas while I sit on the fence and wait!
Have a great day!!
I am very involved in helping my Partner prepare for surgery. I make many of the foods needed
I also eat them. We have found protein shakes to be very good. Unjury chocolate splender and vanilla.
Add flavoring and fruit. although fruit is a no no pre surgery. Stevia also has some flavorings like Caramel, chocolate
We are just looking for soups for liquid diet, and so am looking for recipes.
Surgery date has not been set, waiting for a call
I'm on day 9 of my two week pre-op diet and I just found a clever way to get my protein in without drinking a shake. You take 1 packet of sugar free jello (I used strawberry) mix that into 1 cup of boiling water and then mix your protein powder (I used chocolate) into 1 1/2 cups of cold water, and add to jello mixture and let it set. It tasted great, I was so happy to eat something that wasn't broth or a protein shake. It's not a full meal but it made a great snack that kept me pretty full. Good luck!
If you get the unflavored protein powder you can sprinkle and stir and you have a GREAT meal. I admit I'm pretty done with soups now but I keep those in my cabinet for the time I'm ready. I loved the roasted corn soup - with NO corn kernals in it - all blended, kept me full - just yummy.
