When can you eat sushi and sashimi?

Sushi is very high in carbohydrates, because it is mostly rice.  You should not be eating that during your weight loss phase, or only a very limited amount.

Sashimi is just about 100% protein.  That you can eat, so long as you keep the total within your guidelines.

Once I was cleared to eat freely (for me one month out) I could eat Sushi.

Do be careful with the rice. I pick most of mine off. I too have easily experienced foamies/sticking with Sushi so do be careful.
