We need dog chews for humans! Sorry, but I guess if the surgeon's rule is no chewing, then you're stuck.
If you're sick of sweet foods, like Nita mentioned, you can experiment with adding non-sweet things to plain yogurt. I use Greek yogurt because of the high protein content, and I added a bit of a Ramen noodles flavor packet to it - salty with a bit of a chicken flavor... Not great, but at least it wasn't sweet. A friend also gave me a packet of Risotto flavor packet that had some parmesan cheese in it. That mixed up well with the yogurt, too. I also thought pesto might be good, but never tried it.
One sweet treat was plain (tart) frozen yogurt at one of the new self-serve yogurt places, to which I added the tiniest drizzle of caramel sauce.

part of the reason we are on fluids and not chewing too much is to keep your stomach acid down, so your tummy can grow scar tissue, which is also why we are put on ppi after surgery, when you chew it starts the stomach producing acids to start breaking down the food... ice and sugar free popsicles were what saved me... i feel for you because i know what it feels like to want to chew...

I saw my Dr yesterday for my 4 weeks checkup and he was not thrilled that I had been trying soft foods before I was supposed to.  I was supposed to be on a 4 weeks liquid diet, but about 1.5 weeks ago started adding cottage cheese, refried beans, and very soft chicken into the mix.  Well most of it came back up and my Dr said it was because my stomach was not prepared for any bulk.  So now I have to do 2 more weeks of liquid! So I just have to say be careful with what you want to try.  Good luck
