I've taken it for 16.5 months, never experienced this side effect, never experienced a stall. I hope you can find something that will work for you.

Thanks for your help everyone!  I have actually had bowel movements both days, although I sense they might be headed for painful territory so I took some colace tonight. (the bitter taste still in my mouth to prove it...yuk!)

I'm thinking the problem might actually be the low carb, high fibre tortillas I've been eating non stop since Sunday.  I had one for dinner and have felt totally bloated ever since. (chicken, spring mix and fresh mushrooms inside)

colace?  liquid?  pre-op i took colace off and on for years and it was a red gel cap and didn't have a taste.  the reason i'm wondering is because you said it was bitter.  i need to take some, but not allowed to swallow pills yet.  just wondering if it came in another form?

In Canada it (also?) comes in liquid form and it is awful. At first it tastes like peppermint but the bitter aftertaste is brutal for about 30 mins.  Check at your pharmacy; US and Canadian drugs laws are different.

This is very interesting!
I have been taking prilosec since surgery. My dr told me to take two a day and that is equivalent to a prescription.
My weight loss has been consistant except for the stalls.
I had acid reflux real bad for a long time before surgery. I have cut back on the prilosec and it seems to reappearing.

Good to know.  I'm down 3lbs today, so maybe it's wasn't the prilosec after all.  I haven't had a stall yet, just regular TOM fluxuation, so maybe this is my time.  Who knows...lol.

The prilosec works really well so I'm going to try it for a week and monitor every day.

This is really interesting. I started taking Prilosec on Saturday and have gained  2 lbs. I couldn't figure out where it was coming from. Nothing in my diet has changed besides that prilosec oTC. I think i'll get my omeprazole perscription refilled and try that again.

It might just be our bodies getting used to it and holding on to some water and/or waste.  I'm down 3lbs today so I'm going to monitor for a week and see if I stabilize.

Could you please pm me in a few days and let me know if the weight drops off and things go back to normal?  It works so well (and I rented a car to buy it and bought 6 months worth) that I really hope it's just my body trying to get used to it.
