I was curious to know what foods are sliders to you.  This is what I've discovered so far (list below).  I have a wheat allergy, so many things are off limits to me anyway.  But, even if it has wheat, I would like to know what you have figured out.  What's your sliders.

To Noob's, sliders are food that can be eaten in large amounts and don't make you feel restriction...they just slide right in and out.

My Sliders:

french fries (no flaming, only did it once)
Mexican tamales (drool)
string cheese
tortilla chips
rice
black beans

Nature Valley Granola Thins - thought I could buy them and have one occassionally - BIG MISTAKE....they are gooooooooood!!!!

I was able to eat 2 or 3 within an hour. Never really felt any restriction. Ended up giving some away, so I wouldn't be tempted. Now, I avoid them like the plague.

That;s about it for me. Even though I am not losing really fast, I have great restriction.

Some say they can eat alot of salad, but I have eaten a child's salad bar @ Jason's Deli twice. Both times, I could only eat about 3/4 and had to take the rest home.

I don't have a lot of know slider foods yet, but I had a few potatoe chips at a party last Sun.  & I noticed that even though I was pretty full & satisfied from my meal, that as I cont'd to eat a few I did not feel any increase in fullness.  I won't be trying that again anytime soon.  I have always loved chips & they are dangerous to me.

The string cheese and the black beans are good sources of protein.
I can't consider the black beans a slider food, because, since I am intolerant of most dairy, and eat mostly vegetarian, beans are an important source of my protein intake. My NUT has them on the list of good foods to eat post op.
my slider foods are cheese crackers,****asionally)honey nut shredded wheat, and also have had french fries once or twice post op. Fortunately they don't sit well on my stomach, and I feel bad after eating a few of them.
Now that I am a couple of lb below goal, I feel like I can treat myself a little too often. I don't want it to become a habit, but if I don't increase my calories, I keep on losing.

Wishing you all the best, Carol

Rice, most pasta, most breads, chili, yogurt, mashed potatoes, baked potatoes, chips, cookies, salad, candy, pretzels, crackers are all what I consider slider foods. I can not eat unlimited quantities of these foods by any means. At 18 months, I have restriction with these foods, but I can eat a lot more of them than I can eat dense protein. I get full on these foods, but they tend to not "stick" as long and I can drink within 10-20 minutes of eating these vs. needing to wait 30-45 minutes to drink after protein.

slider foods do not have to be bad foods, even yogurt and cottage cheese, and egg salad can be a slider food to me, along with all the others like pie, cake, stuff like that they allow me to eat more and go through the system faster, that does not mean we cant eat them, but the further out you get its sometimes better to eat things like dense protein that keeps you full longer....

this may not be the case for all people, but alot of people notice that once their stomach is fully healed food empties faster leaving us hungrier sooner ... so if we were to eat a slider food like cottage cheese or yogurt we would be needing to eat again 1 hour later so eventually we can start taking in more and more food to keep full.

Cheetos and popcorn are super sliders for me. I am staying away from the Cheetos because I could seriously get in trouble with those, but I am allowing myself to eat a mini, 100 calorie pack of popcorn once in awhile for an after dinner snack. Although most days I stay nice and full and don't do it!
