I want a Tattoo for my weight loss need ideas please
I will be getting my tatoos this summer, told my hubs I want them before I turn 30. Not weight loss related but I am getting the hospital foot prints of both of my boys on the tops of my feet. Well sort of weightloss related because hey I can actually see the tops of my feet now and wear cute sandals!!! I heard it is the most painful spot, but I figure if I can handle natural childbirth I can handle a couple of tats.

I have several tats, all but one are on my feet/ankles. I always had hope that one day I would loose the weight and those areas are the least effected by massive weight loss.
I can definately say that you need something that YOU want, I also suggest to people to use flashart as a idea creator but not as the actual design. All my tats are for ME, no one else.
I have a pink anchor--i work in the marine industry and it keeps me anchored to the ground. I have a celtic dragon--i have always loved dragons. I have an emblem for a game that my hubby and I have spent a ton of time playing TOGETHER. I have an ace of spades with a four leaf clover inside of it -- murphy's law, with every bit of goodluck, badluck goes hand in hand. I have a set of racing flags on my shoulder to represent my love of muscle cars and I will be getting another tatt for my love of motorcycles very soon.
You might consider a set of scales like this...
and have one side have life, the other side say death and show the life side winning.
or a checked flag to show you won, or a blue ribbon....because I see my journey as me beating death and health-related issues
Or to partially steal from an earlier poster...a tombstone with the words "RIP Krispy Kreme" and the date of your surgery :)

I have two tattoos. A small flower blossom above my right ankle, and a butterfly on the back of my left shoulder.
I'd also thought of getting a tattoo to document my weight loss. Nothing as obvious as a scale, but I was thinking of something like a vine with a flower for every ten pounds I lose or something. Or possibly a celestial scene with the moon and a star for each 10 pounds.
I went to a recommended tattoo place near me and talked to an artist there. He told me that if I wanted to do it as I was losing weight, then I should only really do it on my lower leg or lower arm because if I were to do it on my "body" it would distort as I lost weight. If I wanted to do it somewhere on my body, I should wait until I've lost the weight. And if I were to have plastic surgery, then to wait until after that.
From what I understand, tattoos are more painful where there is less fleshiness/fat, which would explain why the foot is so painful. I've also heard that over the spine is pretty painful, too. My two were not pain-free by any means, but they were tolerable (both in more fleshy areas.) You kind of go in and out of having pain - your endorphins kick in and out. And you can take breaks if you need to. And depending on the tattoo size and your threshhold for pain, you can have it done in more than one appointment.

I’ll weigh (har) in on the tattoo topic. I have several. The one’s that hurt the most were on my feet and calves. The upper arm barely hurt me at all. That is where I got my last tattoo, and if I had known how little that one hurt, that is where I would have started. Sheesh. Lower back and shoulder blade didn’t feel great either, truth be told. The more shading you have, the more painful. I’m looking forward to being able to show mine off. I don’t know if I want to add anymore. I might. I have them all in places I can cover up if I want, I can show them all, or I can show a few. I work in corporate environments, so I kept that in mind. My advice is to think long and hard, and then think some more. Because cover ups limit your choices, heh. And removal is even more painful than getting one. Something else you may not know – if you get a tattoo and you think you want to add to it later – you can’t wait too long because the ink fades, it will not match and it will look funky. I wanted to add to a design and had to have the whole thing redone. Painful. It was only worth it because it was a considerable re-vamp.
