A question to the VSG long-timers

I think you'll get alot of different opinions on this. My Dr.s Program bans soda for life. I was a chain soda drinker. I had a 20oz mountain dew with every meal and diet coke a couple of times a day. I estimated that I used to drink 120oz of soda a day.

I went cold turkey after my initial consult with my surgeon last December. It was hard in the beginning but I got used to it.

I replaced the soda with Crystal light and water. I do believe that I could drink it if I wanted too but to be honest it doesn't appeal to me anymore. There's been alot of negative publicity about the effects on health that diet soda may have. Also varying opinions of the effect on the sleeve.

I've made a conscious choice to leave the stuff alone. I really don't need it in my life. It's not with the risk.

Well... I am a big against soda any kind sugar free or not....
I use to drink a 6 pack of fully leaded Dr. Pepper a day about 15 years ago.
Then I went on  weigh****chers and gave it up and drank only tea and water.
It is the only thing that I have kept out of my diet forever which I attribute to keeping off that
15 pounds  I gained everything back except 15 and the only thing I can think is that it is
the only thing I kept away from. My son last week cut out all drinks from his diet excep****er and
lost 8 lbs.
Soda and chemicals in it are so bad for you if you can give them up for months it is so much easier to give them up forever. I hate people like me that preach like this so I will stop.

CHeers best wishes to you on your journey

I have found Powerade ZERO has become my best friend since surgery. I drink 2 - 32 oz bottles a day - ZERO calories and ZERO real sugar. I like them all, but my favorites are the Blue and Purple. No soda for me again.. I missed it the first week, but not really since.
