GEEGEE13,

I don't think the speed you eat really slows your weight loss. I am 3 1/2 weeks post op and down 26 pounds.

I also eat too fast, mainly cause I don't enjoy the experience of eating that much anymore and just want it to be over...

but I have learned in the last week that if I eat too fast, I eat more than I can and always end up with my chest hurting and (sorry for the TMI) kind of having to puck. and I am talking about eating 6 shrimp instead of 4...

so now I am mostly trying to recognize what fits so I don't feel too full and sticking to that instead of trying to fit more in cause I am always afraid I am not eating enough / getting enough protein in my main meals.

I know people say don't drink when you're eating, but sometimes when I get stuck, I do sip a bit of water to help it go down and it helps.

Nearly 8 mos out here, and still eat too fast once in a while.  The other day I made taco meat and put together a delicious homemade taco and forgot that I need to eat SLOWLY.  I wolfed that thing, which is how I used to eat food that I really liked.  Talk about pain!  Thankfully no foamies, no vomiting.  We live and learn.  :-)  Or not, in my case, LOL!
