Vitamins - Liquid and chewables vs. Solid "regular" vitamins.

Happy Weekend Everyone!!

I had my 3 month check up this morning with my nurse Lynn. I am feeling fantastic, and I am estatic with my new numbers.

I told Lynn this morning, that I've been feeling awesome ever since I switched to liquid vitamins and a Flinstones Complete Chewable for my multi. I also drink a Zip Fizz every morning which is a water add in and has a ton of Vitamins in it as well. I had been taking a Centrum multi and a calcium citrate and I honestly think and feel like I wasn't getting absorbtion with regular pills. This is strictly personal opinion and I just know how I feel.

I mentioned this conversation to a guy I work with. He's a boy genious and always has questions about everything. He told me that he used to work at a place that was across the street from Satelite. Yup, thats right...the porta potty company. Of course the boy wonder had to wander over there and ask questions on a lunch break one day! =)

I'm trying to spare the gross details, but when they empty those bad boys...they pour it through huge filters. They told him they find cell phones...rings... everything that can and does fall out of a pocket, they find. Their lost and found must be pretty interesting!

He asked them "So...whats the most surprising things you find?" The guy told him....Vitamins...100's and 100's of Vitamins. So undigested the C or writing thats printed on them is still visible.

If people with normal stomaches can't digest Vitamin pills...what does that mean for us??

Please weigh in on this subject. Does anyone else think this is valid to them?? I'm really curious what peoples opinions are!

That's astonishing! Maybe the vit guys need to get together with the port-a-potty guys Perhaps the vit guys can learn a thing or two. Who'd have thunk?!?!?!

I'm just getting started, i've been a lurker for a few months on this site.  My surgery, I'm hoping, will be in late May.  Dragongirl-what liquid vitamins do you take?  My surgeon told me to take a regular multivitamin up until the surgery, then a chewable. But I want to make sure I get in ALL necessary vitamins.  (I am soo paranoid about losing my hair lol)

Hi Hun!
I take ReViva Liquid Calcium and ReViva Liquid Multivites. Both of these can be purchased at Costco...I think I heard Sam's Club carries it too. I have to warn you, the liquid Multivitamin is pretty nasty tasting. On the days I can't stomach it, I take the Childrens Flintstone Complete multi vitamins.

Make sure you take the multi vitamins at seperate times during the day. I've been told that taking them together can make them both weaker and kind of cancel each other out.

I also take a liquid B complex. That, I think, I buy at Walmart. I also drink a Zip Fizz every day. It has a bunch of Vitamins in it, with 2500mg of B12...also at Costco. I get my Premiere Protein drinks at Costco too...so thank God for Costco...lol!!

As far as hair loss...some lose and some don't. I think if its going to happen it will and nothing will stop it. It's a big deal to me too, I already have pretty thin hair, but I'd rather be bald and skinny than fat...LOL! I've never heard of anyone going that bald...new haircuts can help too!

I hope this helps...yell if you have any other questions!
