Oh, I need to friend you.  I need this "tough love".  I did not eat the pizza and today I was really on it!  I just need to stay focused and remember that this is what I wanted.  I have lost 5 more lbs. since thursday and I want to keep it up.  Fight the hunger is my new moto!

Sending hugs your way.  We didn't get to the operating table because we were sane about food choices over the years.  Do stick to your surgeon's food plan.  I was on liquids for the first two weeks.  Eventually you will start to heal and you'll start to feel full when you get to the pureed stage and have something solid in your new Sleevie.  Make friends with Sleevie and promise to treat her/him/it right and you'll be so rewarded with a new body.   I too love pizza.  It's definitely one of my favorite foods, but the cravings do go away.  I was in France at 4 months out and had a thin crust slice about as big as a deck of cards.  It was perfection.  I haven't felt the need to eat it again since then.  Your tastes will change as will your cravings the further out you get from surgery.  You'll really be amazed when you start finding creative/healthy ways to prepare that dense protein.

Hang in there and do check out Overeaters Anon, or other groups or private counseling if you feel like the head hunger is winning the battle over healthy choices.  The first months post-op are all about learning healthy new habits.  Watching the scale go down will help you tremendously with that.  When the pizza craving hits, go for a walk and let your head clear.

So, you GOING to eat pizza?  Why?  You have a choice here. This isn't a matter of opinion this is a matter of common sense.  Crave all you want it doesn't change the fact that you're not ready for pizza!
This the day the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

I had my sleeve done right before the superbowl and I was craving salt and junk food..... Which the salt craving is apparently very very common.

Anyway, I got blasted on here for asking about licking doritos and throwing out the chip, but it worked for me. Still works for me. Pizza flavor is awesome and it is sort of gross to have a plastic shopping bag with soggy chips to throw out.....but as long as you arent going to nibble on a chip, it is just powder and flavor.

I love bbq chips and pringles. I just dont eat the chip. I am satisfied enough with just licking a few of them.

Lick at your own risk. It is better than a huge fatty piece of pizza at seven days post op. Dont do that dude. You know that is not a good idea.

Hugs.

Ugghhh...why would people blast you for that??  It is the sensible thing to do.  I have licked many a chip and threw the rest away - LOL...my husband would giggle at me for doing it - but it worked!!  My god, how much harm can a lick do?  It staves off the craving pretty damn good - and didn't hurt me one little bit!!

Oh, and not to mention the fact that I would take a bite of steak - chew the hell out of it - then spit it out....whatever works..right??

Agreed!

And to the poster, just wait another week at least.  Once I was cleared for soft foods, I stole a pinch, literally, of the cheese off a piece of my husband's pizza and that's all I needed. I had also eaten a good 2oz of tuna prior to that to meet my protein first rule.

Good advice but I ended up just leaving it alone. Thank you so much for your honesty!

Weird that so many of us had the same Pizza craving.  I think its because for the first few weeks its liquids/purees many of them sweet tasting.  All I wanted was savory.  I wont lie....I woulda kicked a puppy for a taste of pizza one week out.  LOL  and no ricotta with sauce IS NOT the same, not even close.  hahaahaha.  Rest assured this will pass as you grit through it.  Try something with a little higher sodium content....just be sure to drink more if you do.  This helped me.  I ate soft cheeses like laughing cow.  I melted cheese in my scranmbled eggs.  I tried pizza topping as soon as my Dr./Nut cleared me for solids.  It was my 1 month follow up.  I made a small english muffin pizza with mushrooms and only ate the cheesy goodness.  HEAVEN!  You only have 3 more weeks if your plan is similar to mine.  Hold on!
