I will gag and vomit and well....what's the point! I just ordered some samples from Jay Robb. I'm PRAYING these work!

I found that the shakes taste completely different after surgery. I also thry to experiment with recipes (like Eggface's) to mix the protein into different things.

Good luck and you can do it.

I like the atkins advantage. The chocolate ones are really good, the mocha is okay...the strawberry leaves a blah taste in your mouth. I have found they are not as pricey as others have been,(you can get them at target for 5 and just over the weekend they have a 6 pack at walmart for 6 dollars) and it is already mixed so dont have to worry about a powdery taste. But then again, I am before surgery so not sure how i will feel after.. Since i am recently diagnosed a diabetic, i have to stay away from sugars, and atkins is the only one i have found with only 1 g of sugar.. I may check out the that jay Rob powder that Josie is referring to above...

There is also ready to drink shakes like lean body, oh yea, and eas.  I originally started out on powder ones, I tink the name was pure protein, i dont remember since it was a yr ago. One day I woke up and my daughter made me a shake and I was like eww, what is this. she told me and from that day fwd I can only deal w/ rtd. I normally buy lean body when Its on sale at GNC. I buy tons at a time too. so if u havent tried the powder ones start w/ that first..

I use and LOVE Unjury shakes.  Cutting carbs is soooooo much easier AFTER surgery.

I don't do the bars or chips or other "diet" versions of foods I need to learn to live without. I pretty much stick with the shakes and real food. 5 meals a day, about 1000 calories. Medifast shakes, EAS shakes, Proti brand protein koolaid, & Gatoraid G2 for liquids.

Experiment and find what you can live with, and hopefully will enjoy too!... Craig

I have to say really, truly for me, my tastes haven't changed much since surgery. I like less sugar in my coffee, but that's it. So the shakes I liked before surgery I still liked after surgery. But I know that's not the same story for everyone.
