In addition to all the good advice and comments above, all I have to say is some people are just unhappy and cant handle seeing others happy (like yourself). I'm sure your friend didnt mean to hurt your feelings, but I would be too if my friend said that! Your doing so great with your progress, keep up the good work!

Hang in there!

I say tell them you had surgery, own it and be proud, it stops all the gossip. If you had a heart condition you would have surgery, well you had a condition and had surgery, no shame to it.

Thanks for the positive words, I really do hope my friend will look into surgery for herself, it would benefit her so much. She was already quite heavy when her husband died, but since she has packed on even more lbs. I'll try to be sensitive to her feelings as well. But other than that, I can't worry about the haters, I gotta do what I gotta do for me!

Haters don't hate you, they hate themselves. you are a reflection of what they wish they could be. Hold your head up and tell them "get like me"

When people say things about me behind my back, I always say "I must be very important to you otherwise you wouldn't have anything to say at all about me" or "You have a great topic of conversations, ME".  I try very hard not to allow haters upset me.  I figure they are so unhappy in their lives that all they can do is find fault or spread rumors about other people.

One thing I have found interesting here where I work (in an office all all women and no one knows about my WLS) is since I have been on my pre-op diet and lost 50 lbs, it has motivated all the other women to start losing weight as well.  So if my losing weight helps to motivate others to lose weight as well, I say Great!

When these women start saying things about you, just hold your head up and smile because you are doing something they can't and they are jealous for it.

You keep on rocking your sleeve and cause all those girls to be as jealous as you can.
