Full liquid suggestions that aren't sweet?

 Hi all,
'I'm 3 days post-op & will be on full liquids until Friday.  I've made some super high protein instant puddings (11 g per 1/2 cup), and I have some protein shakes I can live with, but all those are sweet and I am truly sick of sweet things.  Do you have suggestions for non-sweet things that I can put protein powder in?  Cream of mushroom is out for me, but I'm totally interested in other cream soups that people had good luck with.  Or anything else, non sweet.  Thanks!

Cream of chicken soup and Cream of Tomato is also good.  Also a really well blended cream of potato soup with no chunks.

Hi.  I went through the same thing after surgery.  Everything was just too sweet for me.  I am in week 6 and I must say I really enjoyed a soup I got at a restaurant that was called "Tomato Bacon Dill Soup".  Use a very good blender ( I used my Ninja which is my new best friend) and blend the soup (homemade tomato soup is best) with some cooked bacon, and I also used a low fat cheese to make it a bit creamier, then top with some fresh sprinkled dill (I actually chopped my dill in the Ninja before I did the soup and removed some for topping).  I found this to be somewhat of a life saver for me.

I also had a craving for chili, but since you are in liquids - here's how I did it for my liquid phase:
1 large can of crushed tomato, i can of chili flavored chili beans, chili powder to taste (I used about 2 tsp personally), onion flakes, 1/4 tsp minced garlic and salt and pepper to taste.  Then I used my hand blender and blended it all until smooth consistency.  It was YUMMY!!!   I ate that for probably 4 days off and on because it was just so good to me.

I hope that helps.  If it is any consolation - I had to do the full liquid diet for 4 weeks... it is over before you know it.  I wish you all the best!!

Thanks,
ToriRaye

I don't know if you have a Panera around you or not, but they have great soups.  I went and got the cheddar broccoli soup and came home to put it in the blender.  It purees in to a really creamy, thin soup. It is delicious.

There are a few different varities of Butternut Squash soup out there. V8 makes a great one!
Cream of broccoli was yummy too. After you're off full liquids, go get some Wendy's chili and whip that in your Ninja....little low fat mexican cheese and lite sour cream...yum!
