April 2011 Sleevers: How ya doin'?

4 weeks for me today. Lost 2 more pounds, so that is 26 since surgery. I actually gained 5 pounds right before surgery, must have been the Peanut Buster Parfaits my husband would bring home for me. YUMMY!!

I really don't miss a thing though really. My sons college graduation was this past weekend along with Mother's Day. I ate whatever I could get off their plates, mostly fried chicken strips. I am so sick of that. I am feeling yucky today, irregular. I did  go for my walk but it is getting hot here and not sure how much more I can do. And trying to find a job is getting beyond ridiculous!

Hope everyone is doing well, staying on track, exercising, sipping, sipping, sipping. Proteins first. Yada, Yada.

Let me know how you are doing.

And in the meantime, if you or you know someone near Peachtree City, GA our first support group meeting is tomorrow, Tuesday, May 10th at 7 pm. Would love to meet you!!

I'm 4/25.  So far since the VSG I hav gone from 284 to 274.  So 10 lbs in exactly 2 weeks.  I'm happy with that.

I'm on  mushies and I am still in awe at how well the sleeve is working.  This is a much better surgery than the Lap-Band.  I'm so glad it's out.  No trace of acid as of yet so I hope that I was able to avoid that bullet.

Doing great.  Just about 2 weeks out from surgery for me.  I'm looking forward to doing some chewing soon.  Can't wait to move on to solids!  I've lost 18 lbs so far (incl 3 days pre-op diet) which is amazing.  I keep expecting the scale to show a gain because that's what has happened in the past when I've been losing weight!

Today is the first day I've felt normal enough that I might try out my elliptical tonight when I get home... maybe go for a walk outside.  It's getting nice out.  Spring is here!

I know what you mean about gaining. It is so odd to me that I have failed at so many diets. I see so many people losing so much weight but really can't wrap my head around that I could actually do this too!
Glad you both are doing well. Chewing is nice! Try some gum to get you through if you are allowed.

I'm 14 days out.

I've only lost 6 lbs

258 just before surgery
272 after surgery (due to iv fluids in the hospital)
252 today (6lbs lost)

I'm still on all liquids. But i'm having to drink apple juice alot and eat regular jello to keep my blood sugars up. I think its why i haven't lost much

I think i'll be moved to eggs/fish by next Monday. I'll have to wait and see what my Dr. says on Friday.

I am just a little over 3 weeks, having the most terrible time getting down the water and protein. When ever i try to eat it feels like i am swallowing a hot rock, it hurts so bad so I just don't eat. I am down 16lbs since surgery and 14lbs with the pre-op diet. I have been walking, but the weight is not coming off that fast. I'm sure it the whole water and protein that I am not getting in. Other than that I great.

I know many people who can't do water, I am just blessed that I can I guess. A friend of mine does sugar free lemonade, never drinks plain water and mixes unflavored protein with the lemonade too. I am only doing 1 shake a day, the EAS chocolate protein powder with 8 oz. skim milk. It has 20 carbs per serving but that is the only way I can get all of my protein in. I jus****ch it the rest of the day and pretty much only eat protein and no carbs. Hope things get better for you. Do you have the baby spoons? I still use them from time to time and they help. Just chew til there is nothing left.

Doing great! I'm down 11 or 12 lbs (been stalled for a lot of the month) since surgery, but several inches off my waist & other places. Pants are getting loose! I am holding a ton of water right now too since it's my TOM, and a rough one at that! Blah! So, I'm prob down a bit more than that. On plan with my eating, protein, carbs and all that..

So far, no issues with the foods I've had- and should be officially starting meats & full solids this coming week- looking forward to some fish. Happy to report eggs still like me, soft boiled, med boiled, over easy, no problems! Still have an appetite and food tastes good, but not really HUNGRY, just nibbly when it's time to eat. Still eating about 1/4C or a tad more at every meal (mostly mushie stuff.) 1 egg is a meal.

Hmmm what else, oh- I just noticed today I'm short one back roll! I have 3 now, the one on my bra line on the other side is almost gone too! And, I can climb my basement stairs over and over without getting winded anymore. Doing my treadmill, and all that too.

Super-happy about the surgery decision, and looking forward to a much more active spring & summer!

3 weeks out today and doing great. Lost nothing the first week, but I had large doses of steroids surgery day + the next 4 days so I was just glad not to have gained. Lost 14 lbs the next week and a half, then stalled a couple days and was wondering what happened, but my TOM came today so that's what happened.

Eating soft foods and having a little trouble eating a full 1/4 cup so I'm a long way from getting proteins from food yet, but I do well drinking my protein in the meantime, so that's OK. No solids for another few weeks on my surgeon's program.

I'm happy about myself, glad I did this, tickled with how things are going.

And I'm already running out of clothes (due to pre-op & post-op loss combined)!

Highest weight: 335 lbs, BMI 50.9
Pre-op weight: 319 lbs, BMI 48.5
Current range: 140-144, BMI 21.3 - 22

175+ lbs lost, maintaining since February 2012
