I'M TRYING NOT TO BE ANNOYING OR AN ASSHOLE BUT THEY ARE WEARING ON MY...
I HOPE ALL IS WELL WITH EVERYONE. FIRST OFF MY JOURNEY STARTED IN JANUARY (THAT IS WHEN I FIRST DECIDED TO HAVE WLS). SINCE THEN I HAVE BEEN TO TWO SEMINARS, 4 SURGEON CONSULTATIONS (FOR INSURANCE REASONS), BEEN THROUGH A 3 MONTH DIET PLUS ALL THE PRE-OP TESTING SCREENING, ETC. I COMPLETED EVERYTHING TO SUBMIT MY INFORMATION TO BLUE CROSS MONDAY, MAY 2, 2011. THEY STILL HAVEN'T SUBMITTED MY FILE. THEY ARE STILL WAITING ON MY MEDICAL CLEARANCE FROM A DOCTOR THEY RECOMMENDED TO ME. I UNDERSTAND IT TAKES 48-72 HOURS TO GET ALL OF MY LAB WORK BACK FOR MY MEDICAL CLEARANCE BUT IT HAS BEEN A LITTLE OVER A WEEK AND A HALF. I'M TRYING NOT TO GET TO IRRITATED ABOUT THIS AND BE PATIENT WITH THE OFFICE BECAUSE THEY HAVE BEEN GREAT UP UNTIL NOW. BUT I HAVE BEEN WAITING ALMOST TWO WEEKS AND MY INFO STILL HASN'T BEEN SUBMITTED TO MY INSURANCE AND I HAVE A PACKET TO SEND INTO MY JOB'S CORPORATE OFFICE BEFORE SURGERY. BUT I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO PUT DOWN AS FAR AS MY EXPECTED DAY TO LEAVE. I UNDERSTAND THEY HAVE OTHER PATIENTS AND I AM TRYING NOT TO CALL THEM TWICE A DAY BUT I AM REALLY CONSIDERING IT AT THIS POINT. WHAT SHOULD I DO OH FAM? DID THIS HAPPEN TO YOU? HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET MEDICAL CLEARANCE? I AM SO OVER THIS BS AND THE RUN AROUND.
THANKS FOR READING,
CHEYARA
Start writing down the name of the person you are talking to whether it is at the insurance company, your own corporate office or the doctor's office. Ask for the name of that person's supervisor, too. Write down the time of your call, the date and what you were told. that way when you call back you can say, "I talked to Sally at 3:15 p.m. yesterday and she told me blah, blah blah. Can you help me to find out if she did what she told me she would do, or do I need to talk to (supervisor's name)?"
People are making an enormous amount of money off you having this surgery. They need to step up and do their jobs.
((((Hugs!))))

My suggestion. Take three deep breaths. Do not call or worry about it until Monday morning. Instead of calling twice a day call once a day Monday, Wednesday, and Friday until you're ready to roll. This whole ordeal is stressful, unfortunately you can't make 'em move any faster.
Don't stress about the stuff for your job, I didn't submit mine til the week before surgery and I didn't miss a single dime. IDK if all states are the same in that regard, I'd talk to your immediate supervisor and HR about how that stuff will work out.
For me I think I started all my stuff in May and got my surgery date in August. Luckily my insurance company required 3 months of supervised surgery and my boss at work gave me a lot of leeway to go take care of all this craziness.
I know it sucks, but you're nearing the end of this part, just try to be patient, definitely don't just say to hell with it all, and try to keep your job informed of the situation regarding tentative dates.
I know all about nerves and ready to get this sh*t over with. Believe me. The funny thing is that once I got my surgery date the first thing I thought was "OH SH*T, THIS IS REALLY GONNA HAPPEN".
It's not an easy process (by design I think, they want to make you work to qualify for the surgery) and the mental and physical adjustments are not easy...but knock on wood I don't regret anything yet (except trying chick-fil-a at two weeks).
Good luck, hope everything else proceeds smoothly.
