It may have something to do with it. I did have a drain and sleeping on the side where the drain was is not comfy. It isn't there anymore but that incision and the one next to it are the ones that are the sorest.

It gets better. I had to sleep in a recliner for about two weeks. Than I was able to
move to the bed, just kept alot of pillows under me so I was tilted. I really meant
it when I said it gets easier. One day you'll just lay on your side like you used to
and you wont even realize it. Then after you lose the weight you'll have a new
problem laying on your back. Your tailbone will stick out and that will
be uncomfortable!  But I would not trade the pain from my tailbone
for my old weight.

Just wait until you start noticing those hard bony things in your pelvic area!
Amazing I didn't even know I had pelvic bones.   And those bones under
your breasts, ribs?! Me! I have a rib cage, unbelievable. It's like a whole new
body and it's mine! You are in for some amazing discoveries!

Enjoy and try to get some rest,
Dani

Thanks Dani! You made me laugh about the pelvic bones :). I got home last night and sleeping on my back on the couch seems to be not so bad. It helps too that I am somewhere familiar I think. Got my doggy keeping watch over me while I recover :)

I'm a tummy sleeper as well, but can sleep on my side.  I have a pillow that is very "squishy".  I tucked it tightly against my stomach and was able to sleep pretty good.   You may even want to try a body pillow.
