Sushi
Another substitute for crackers that I learned on here, is place slices of turkey pepperoni on a paper towel and heat it in the microwave for about a minute. It sounds like it is going to explode or something, but it won't! It makes crunchy little things that I love!
I also eat sushi, just pick most of the rice off the outside if it is a roll, and just eat the fish if it is sashimi. It goes down very well.

I had sushi at about 4 months out. I had 2 piece of a friends roll and then I ordered some sashimi. No problems with the rice.. just filled me up FAST!!!
yumm... now I want some right now!!
I do not do bread, past, rice, crackers, etc in my everyday day eating plan, but I have had them on occasion. What I found is a nice subsitute to use if you're looking for a crunch is carrots that are cut into kind of chip shapes. I've heard alot of people use cucumber slices, too. I just happen to really dislike cucumbers.

OK, I'm not a huge sushi eater, but here's what I like... either a California roll or a C-Roll(cucumber, cream cheese, crab) rolled in either soy paper or paper-thin cucumber W/O the rice. Dip in soy sauce--it's great! Some places can't, won't do this.... they look at you like your crazy as hell. But a well trained sushi chef can make the whole thing stick together and work, esp. w/ the thin cucumber. Many of them have been trained in this technique, but they don't normally use it because it's so time consuming. One roll W/O rice is the perfect amount for me. Be sure to tip well for the extra trouble. And if they act like it's a big inconvenience or you're crazy... well, just don't go back and find a new place!

Sashimi was one of the first meals I ate out post surgery. I still haven't touched rolls with rice, but that's a personal choice as I am avoiding all carbs.
and look for Naruto rolls. They are sushi rolls rolled in cucumber instead of rice. If your place doesn't have them on the menu, you can probably just ask for it instead.

I love sashimi, and often have a few ounces of tuna sashimi with wasabi and soy sauce for breakfast - it really sets me up for a day with minimal hunger and cravings.
I sometimes make rolls at home and use chopped cucumber or mushed up crabmeat mixed with a dab of mayo (to make it sticky) in place of the rice - wrapped up in nori with tuna or salmon sashimi. Tasty!

Thanks all for the great advice! I tried the cheese crackers and I'm hooked! Although the tuna I ate with them wasn't very good! Anyways--- Thanks for all the Sushi ideas! My coworkers are talking about going out after work soon to do sushi and its right around the time I can start regular foods-- and my birthday! so that should be fun! I will try all the ideas! Thanks again!! I always know I can count on some good answers here on the forum! Thanks again!
