Forgive me for I have sinned!
I just gave my 4 year old a TV DINNER... a crappy banquet one to boot! 24% of saturated fat, 26% of sodium... I should be whipped!
I got it for my mom to feed her when she sits for me so that I can go to my psyc classes for surgery... I gave it to her tonight 'cause I didn't want to cook twice (I was eating stuff she doesn't like).
I am TERRIBLE
She has had her share of chicken nuggets, don't get me wrong, but always Prude or Tyson, 100% white meat, limited processing etc... and generally with a fruit and veggie.
Tonight she had crappy nuggets, mac and cheese and corn... and she ate EVERY BITE! (She did round it our with some maderine oranges, but still...)
I only give her 100% whole wheat bread, fresh fruit, no sugar added apple sauce... limited junk...
I am SO ashamed!
AHHHHHH!!!!

Don't beat yourself up. I too worry about the kids getting crappy stuff when I'm recovering or just don't want to fix something for them too. But once in a while it's really not a terrible thing. Especially since you do so well 99% of the time! Give yourself a break! In the long run it's seeing that mom works so hard to be healthy and provide the right things that will really make the difference for them.
Are you married? Train your hubby to cook at least ONE sort of healthy meal. I always keep nitrate free hot dogs in the house and frozen green beans, so hubby can boil some hot dogs and green beans for an easy and healthier meal if I need to step out.
Don't feel bad... these situations are always for us to learn from.. we have to do these things to see where we can improve. Just try to figure out how to avoid this situation in the future so you won't have to resort to this. Also you can premake some foods and freeze them so they can be re-heated later.. sort of like making your own frozen dinners.

Thanks guys! You are right.. I just need to stay strong and plan better... that's the thing though, I have other easy go to meals that are healthy! I mean, the kid will happily eat broccoli! I keep a frozen bag all the time and steam it in the microwave... add 3 healthy chicken nuggets and some mango or something and it's dinner! Convieniece foods are evil!
The funny thing is that little miss "not a big eater" was starving before bed and had a slice of 100% stoneground wheat bread with butter and some cut up strawberries with her soy milk :-) So I guess I'll just look at "dinner" as a bad snack!
