FREE Buffet and I Couldn't Eat ANYTHING....

So today was our 'End-of-the-Year' lunch as a faculty and staff. I sooooooooo wasn't looking forward to that since I can only have liquids today because MY SURGERY IS TOMORROW!! LOL Well, anyway, we go to this country diner that serves buffet with all kinds of good country foods.... Fried chicken, dumplings, sweet potatoes... (Ok, I'll stop right there...)

And what did I eat??? NOTHING!! I sipped on my Sprite and watch everyone else around me eat!!!!!!!!!!!

And guess what..... THE MEAL WAS PAID FOR! I WOULDN'T HAVE EVEN HAD TO PAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! 

But guess what else... I SURVIVED! I didn't cheat! I didn't 'taste'. I behaved myself! So the fact that I was able to do that speaks volumes for me of how I'm HOPING to do post op!

OH Family, I wanna live. I want this to work, and I think I proved to myself that I CAN DO THIS!!

PS. Can this count as a NSV!?!? Shooooooooooot, I feel like I did somethinng big! LOL

Awesome job young lady! Hard for us foodaholics to pass up free country food but you did it girl. You're gonna do great.

OMG! You did sooooooooo good!  I love that kind of food! As a matter of fact - that's what got me fat! Lol! I am so proud of you! And can I say one more thing - I was jealous of YOU! I miss soda and Sprite was my drink!! Lol!!!  Best of luck tomorrow!! You will do just fine!!  I will slide over and make you a spot on the loser's bench! You know the saying "nothing tastes as good as being thin feels?' (or something like that) - well - it's true!!! Hugs!! Kris

Yes, COUNT IT!!! You did an amazing job!! The Science Department Chair just walked over to my classroom to tell me that she wanted to invite me to an "invite only" luncheon that she is hosting tomorrow, due to my hard work, and the things I do for the students OUTSIDE of the classroom! I had to respectfully decline! Like yours, this was PAID for and all I have to do is SHOW UP! I'm NOT going, but I'm proud that EVEN before this journey actually begins, I'm making a comittment to stick to my physician's orders!!! You've done well, and I can't wait to see your progress!! I'm ROOTING for you!!!
