You are getting dehydrated!  Once you are more than a week out you can start drinking more fluids and don't have to drink 4 oz an hour.  Keep sipping and good luck.  Protein is VERY important.  Put unflavored into your drinks.  I liked diet decaf iced tea and diet lemonade the best.

GOOD LUCK!

I am really trying my best to drink all my water. I get my protein in all most every day. I write down my water and protein. I like the lemonade also. Just don't know, I hope it is not dehydrated!  Thank you.
God Bless

Hi,

You had your surgery a week before mine. I saw your posts upon arriving home and it sounded like you had some complications. Not sure if you are taking more time healing, I do not recall the details.

I too was weak and dizzy after surgery. My NUT said this comes from one of four things: too few liquids, too little protein, low blood pressure, low blood sugar. I am sure there can be more but those are probably the most frequent. In my case I was taking in plenty of fluids and protein, stopped my BP after surgery, and found it to be low blood sugar. I do best having a little something every few hours. No longer have the issue.

Another lady from our support group is still on liquids and she had her surgery a day before mine. Things happen and in her case her tummy was still really swollen. She looked good and was just taking protein and water.

Its critical not only for weight loss but most importantly for overall health to get in your protein and water. I rarely drink straigh****er. I use crystal light. It goes down easy and I haven't been having any issues getting my fluid in. Yes, like everyone I am getting tired of protein. There are different brands and options and I recommend trying them ALL before throwing in the towel. Unflavored or cappacino or lemonade. Its just too too important to give up on that battle.

I am praying for you. I see your struggles and I hope that things get easier soon!

Lisa

i was weak for months after surgery.  it was to the point where my legs were dragging.  i started to take extra b vitamins and it made a huge difference.

Sorry to hear you are still feeeling yucky. I've had about 12 surgeries in the last few years and even the out patient ones made me weak for weeks. I think as we get older it just takes more out of us for a longer period of time. With my inpatient surgeries it seems like it took me a good month before I was starting to really feel good again so just give it time and keep getting that fluid and protein in. Have you had any labs done? Maybe see if you are anemic or have blood sugar issues. Good luck hon, hope it all straightens out soon!
