ONE YEAR, 100%, -113.2lbs. Lots of pics (it's a book)
My "diet" for lack of a better word, is more controversial on this board because it's more liberal. My surgeon really did not have any restrictions, which was one of the reasons I opted for my surgeon. The first 4 weeks I followed my surgeon's eating plan to a T. I did notice that early out anything greasy or cheesy was very problematic.
I had to find out what worked for me. For me, it was breaking free of the vicious dieting cycle. I only tend to overeat when I feel like I'm on a diet! I commented to my mom that the more food I have around me, the less anxiety I have about needing food. She said that made perfect sense for me.
I have always loved to cook and always eaten very well-rounded meals. I've never been a gallon ice cream or bag of chips eater. I don't typically eat breakfast, just can't really get behind it. But I do drink coffee.
Lunch was often chicken meatballs and maybe a corn and black bean salad. Maybe some beef jerky as a snack, or some grapes or crackers with cheese. Dinner is pretty much anything I would've eaten preop, but much much less (1/3ish). For example tonight I had beef tips with a little bit of rice. The other night I had a couple slices sirloin steak and 1/2 small sweet potato and two slices of tomato with 2 thin pieces fresh mozzarella. Or this weekend I smoked some ribs and had about a rib and a half and maybe 1/4 c. baked beans.
Not much of a sweets eater, especially now. Lactose intolerant now. But I do love my little dove promise dark chocolates. I will often have 1 or 2 little pieces of dark chocolate with a coffee in the evening, or a glass of red wine. I've gotten a little more lax in the second 6 months, but basically I try to eat well rounded, healthy meals, make sure there is protein, and make sure I don't feel deprived. I will say there are a couple food even I don't feel safe keeping around--mini peanut butter chocolate eggs (they seem so innocent and cute, but are evil), or little tiny oreo bites. Those snacky foods can get me into trouble, but I've never had any problem with a bite of mashed potatoes alongside my meatloaf. That's why I got this: so that I could have the freeedom to enjoy life, including food.
