Its not easy being sleeved...
Hi Nurse Vicky
I get sleeved tomorrow and truly believe the sleeve is a great WLS option. Something to remember as we read the stall posts - we didn't get fat overnight and we aren gonna get thin overnight no matter which surgery we choose. Stalls happen - it takes our bodies time to adjust to the weight loss and we have to make sure that we follow the programs given to ensure we are getting the protein in that we need.
Good luck making you decision!

I'm right there with you. My weight loss is stalling lately, but it's because of my behaviors and not working my tool. I am going through a divorce which is hell so I'm just happy to be maintaining right now.
I can tell you there are some things that I do that really help me not just totally start gaining the weight back. I make bulk batches of food and have that with me and ready to go at all times. In my emotional state it is too hard to rely on will power.
I have none right now. Having food cooked and ready to go makes it so I don't have to rely on will power when I have none. It means that it is EASIER to eat right then to not eat right, because I have already invested in cooking the food and buying the food and it's ready for me.
I make a lot of plans to keep myself out of doors and active. It helps me deal with the emotional turmoil and making plans with others keeps me accountable. For instance I made plans to go for a walk with a friend on Saturday, amusement park with my son and friends and her kids on Sunday, and beach outing on Monday.
This kept my mind and body occupied when what I really wanted to do was sit in my bed in my PJs and eat cheese and watch sappy romance movies. The fact that I made plans with others kept me accountable.
I really think that it is important to keep looking at what particular areas you are struggling with and find strategies to work on them. For example if you struggle with sweets, maybe learning to make sugar-free desserts will help you.
Or if you are dealing with stress, maybe some stress management techniques will help you. I'm not sure what's going on for you, but please keep working at it. Many of our problems are difficult to deal with but not impossible if you get support and keep trying to find a way.

So sorry you are struggling, but also glad to know I'm not the only one. I lost weight much faster on the 3 month liquid fast I had to do prior to surgery. Now it is just soooo slow. I think my biggest problem is that I'm six weeks out but still only able to get in about 300 max calories a day. My sleeve seems too tight and 2-3 small bites of soft foods and 1/8 cup of pureed is all I can force in at a time. Any more and up it comes for a visit. I'm so tired of the NUT telling me I have to get more in......uh, I'm trying really hard...do I look like someone who doesn't want to eat?
It just seems like I went through all of this to be only able to eat a few bites, and the weight is stuck on me. My family keeps saying things like "I thought you'd lose faster".....makes me feel great. But lets hang in there. This seems to work for the majority of people on here, and I have to believe it will get better and it will come off eventually, right? I'm gonna try to get my booty moving more at the gym. Good luck! You can do this! We all can!!

Part of your slowness now is that you lost so well on the pre-op diet. You gave yourself a head start, which is great! But it means that your body is now in adjustment mode so the weight doesn't fall off as fast right now. And, although I don't believe in "starvation mode", I agree with your NUT that 300 calories isn't helping with your weight loss. Do you have the same restriction with liquids? You may want to increase the number of protein shakes or add some 2% milk to them to up the calories.
