Hopeful and optimistic

i went to the doctor today for my annual student health asessment.  i have lost 12 lbs in the past several weeks and am continuing on my pre op diet as i begin this process and my blood pressure went down from 140/90 to 102/80! 

as a med student, i keep learning all the terrible and life theatening side effects of hypertension, obesity, high cholesterol, and the lot, and i cannot express in words how equisitely happy i am to be on a path to health!

i offically have all of the necessary paperwork into the surgeon, now i am just waiting for them to submit it to the insurance.  i am so excited and i have basically given no space in my head to the possiblity of this not happening.

i need this surgery to be the best me, a better med student, and ultimately a better doctor, so i am trying to stay positive.  the good news is that once the doctors office gets their act together, and submits the paperwork, i should hear from the insurance in less than a week. 

fingers crossed!  hope all you sleevers are doing great today!  off to the library for at least 8 hours, today's topic, sleep, wake, and memory pathways in the brain!

I feel the same way.  I received the letter from the clinic and they said only 2 more nut visits and then they will submit to the insurance.  I am excited, scared and hopeful all at the same time.
You will do great and I'm sure you will be a great doctor you will have more empathy and compassion because you will have been there.  Good Luck and let us know when you get your date!

My paperwork "should" have been submitted today. ( I say should since I don't know if they did or not ) They told me at my surgeons office to start calling them on Wed. and then call everyday after until I get an answer!! SO, that would be really cool to get it in the next day or two!

What is the hold up with your surgeon's office? Why waiting to submit??

We are getting sooo close! Keep us posted on the progress!
