Will I get my surgery tomorrow or not???

As some of you know, I have had a veeerrry quick approval and surgery schedule.  Submitted to insurance THIS Monday, approved on Tuesday, Pre-op on Wednesday, and surgery TOMORROW!!!

Here is the kicker...my insurance called the surgeon's office and gave them a "verbal approval".  My surgeon's office will only operate with a written approval- by mail or FAX.  So the lady at the insurance company told me that she would FAX it on Wed.  Here it is Thursday night, and as of 5 PM, the surgeon still does not have the FAX!!  Do you have any idea how mad I would be if I drove 70 miles one-way. to be sent home?????

The coordinator lady at the office promises they would work something out, but someone else there told me that it would be a no-go!

Any thoughts and/or  prayers for my safety and recovery are greatly appreciated!!

Aw - that sucks!  Sorry that they are doing that to you - don't they know how stressful it is? 

You have my thoughts and prayers - my guess is the coord will call and have it faxed in the morning and you'll go (maybe just a little late).

So sorry to hear Sheri. When you check into the hospital would they call to verify with UHC? Every time I had procedures at the hospital there was an intense check in process and my insurance was verified.

I hope you are able to be sleeved tomorrow. Prayers going up for you!
