Thanks everyone for the great advice. I work a late swing shift at work so my biggest problem is eating late at night when I get home. Last night I didn't eat past 1opm (bed at 4am) and dropped a couple lbs today =) . If I can just stick to this I think I will be good. I think I might also try the liquid diet (protein) diet up to 2 weeks before surgery.

Thanks again!

yes, if your surgeon doesn't have you doing a 2 week pre-op liquid diet, just do that. you will lose the last of the weight before surgery and your liver will be easier to work around.

my surgeon's guidelines for the 2 week liquid pre-op diet are:
the liquids must either be clear (water, broth, no calorie drinks) OR...
at least 15 grams of protein per serving, 5 grams or less of total fat (2.5 grams or less saturated) and 10 grams of sugar or less PER SERVING (and we could drink as much as we wanted of what ever, as long as it fit in these guidelines)

the first 3 or 4 days of the liquid diet is hard, but after that it gets much easier to do. you'll be craving real foods those first few days then your body will get used to it. just stick to it and you will succeed, its only 2 weeks to the rest of your weightloss!! good luck!!
